When I was a little girl, my cousins had their noses and navels pierced and I never really understood the concept of piercings. And as I grew older, i've been introduced to body modifications; piercings mostly, and it intrigued me! So after YEARS of asking and complaining and many many hours of research and demonstrations and explanations to my parents, my mother finally decided to give in.

When I got home, she told me that I had an appointment for 11:30, Saturday June 12, 2002 to get my eyebrow pierced. I was incredibly happy!! I went straight in and got on my computer and changed my MSN name to "Oh Yeah, Getting My Eyebrow Pierced Saturday!!" All my friends were so jealous but I was just so happy I was getting it done.
The friday night, I had spent the night at my best friends house and we were "partying" a little bit meaning we were feeling the best the next morning but I didn't care. My mom picked me up in the morning, I went home, took a shower, went and got my friend and were off. When we were almost there, I mentioned I hadn't eaten yet that day, which isn't a good thing and seeing as I was like 13, I didn't really know it was bad because I wasn't into piercings and such like I am now.
After arguing the whole way there about my not eating, we finally dropped it and got out of the car. To our surprise, the shop hadn't been opened or anything, which we thought was odd but Kathy came out and told us to go in her house. I found this rather odd but I didn't care, I was getting my eyebrow pierced.
Once we were in, she had told us her shop didn't get finished so she would be piercing me at her kitchen table. I didn't mind, and for being pierced in a kitchen, she did a great job and it was incredibly clean.
She had started cleaning and marking my eyebrow and then I had brought up the subject of me not eating so she went in her cupboard and gave me a couple packs of crackers. It took me forever to open the crackers because they were idiot proof so after 10 minutes, I had them opened and mostly consumed. And once again, she commenced with the process, but my mother, being the weakling she is, couldn't bear to watch when she opened up the package of clamps so she started walking around admiring her painting and stuff.
Kathy was talking to me, and Mel(my friend) was sitting in front of me while Kathy was cleaning my eyebrow again and getting the clamps on my eyebrow. I was getting a little nervous when she put them on because they felt to comfortable to be true. And then she opened up the needle and put it into some, shit, the word left me now, but it was the cream/jelly stuff to make the needle slide in better.
So, I grabbed Mel's hand because she told me to close my eyes so I knew she was going to do it soon. I was sitting there for about 2 minutes and I was like "are you done yet??" and she was like "just screwing the ball on". I couldn't believe how fast and incredibly painless it was. But she dropped the one ball so I was there with a short barbell in my eyebrow with no bottom ball on it. After a few minutes, she found a new one, put it on and I was done. Unfortunately, I had no money to tip her but she did an awesome job!!
It's gonna be a year and a half December 21, 2004 and I have no intentions of taking it out. Since then, I have gotten 7 piercings and still counting. I intend on becoming a piercer because with my list, i'm not going to be able to afford them all.
To anyone who is considering to get your eyebrow pierced, DO IT!!! It's virtually painless and it's awesome to have!! I advise that if you do decide to get it done, get it done! Don't get it done with a circular barbell or a ball closure ring because they catch on things and they are a lot easier to get ripped out. Just get a nice barbell, but make sure its longer in order to have room for swelling. I was lucky, I was pierced with a short barbell and had barely no swelling, but I did bruise for 3 or 4 days.
Don't get in any fights though, I did and well, it hurt!!
Good luck with your new piercing!!
