I had thought for some time about receiving another piercing. I really liked how the eyebrow piercings looked, but I wanted a bit of a twist to it.

I told her if she would get it, that I would get my eyebrow done. We went down to Body Rights where I always go for my piercing needs! I talked to Frank, Shannon, and Sarah for a bit about what we were thinking. I always have Sarah pierce me, that's just who I feel comfortable with. I told them I wanted an eyebrow piercing, but with a bit of a twist.
Sarah took me into the back and started marking some spots on my eyebrow that I could get pierced. She marked a spot that I loved. It's right in the center of my eyebrow, and slightly skewed so it is diagonal against the brow. I was in love with this placement. After this I went with Charlotte to get her nostril pierced by Shannon which went without a problem.
After she had her nostril pierced it was my turn with Sarah. I went back into Sarah's studio. She began scrubbing it and letting me know about the risk of rejection and other problems associated with surface piercings. I was a bit nervous, but not too bad. I had many piercings by that time, so it was cool.
After she cleaned she gave me the usual breathing speech that I have heard a million times, but it makes me feel better each time I hear it. It means that I am not just a number to them, that they care about me. So here it went. She told me what she was going to do.
She walked over holding everything. She had the Anatometal internally threaded barbell at 14 gauge, the needle, and forceps. This was my first piercing with forceps. She talked briefly about them. They did not hurt at all when she applied them. It was a very slight squeeze, but nothing painful or discomforting in the least. She told me to concentrate on my breathing, in through my mouth and out through my nose.
As she walked over I saw the needle and got a bit nervous. I have never been afraid of needles but I was now for some reason. It is kind of crazy.
She said that she would pierce after my deep breath in and out. So I took one last deep breath in, began to let it out, then I felt a very sharp squeeze and pinch. It was not as bad as I thought that it would be. It went very quickly. She left the needle in for a second as she got the barbell ready to put in the fresh piercing. She placed the barbell though with help of a taper due to the fact that it would make it less painful for me. And she was right! I did not feel it at all going in. It was awesome!
Afterwards I sat up. She asked me how I was feeling, which was fine. I went to look at it in the mirror. I loved it! It was off center with a slight diagonal to it, and it looked awesome. Since then, many people asked me if it was supposed to be that way. I was like, heck yeah, that is how I like it. I consider it a standard eyebrow with a twist. This is my favorite piercing to date because it is so unique to me.
Many people feel squeamish about receiving and eyebrow piercing. There are so many myths and legends about them.
I left the room and tipped her and went to Frank and Shannon to give them my strips and fill out the final paperwork. I went home and started with a sea salt soak. It was not very sore, but I always soak mine like a champ!
The next morning when I woke up, I was scared to death. I had a huge black eye. I had never heard of a piercing that did this. I searched on BME and found some people that had the same problem. The shiner lasted for about a week and then healed fully away. I was back with my beautiful eyebrow piercing. I love the way it looks. I recently ordered some blue spiked ends for it; hopefully they will be in soon.
