I have wanted a piercing since I was 10 years old. It started off after I saw Clueless and wanted to get my nose pierced. I thought it looked cute and I wanted a tiny diamond. I asked my mom and she said I had to wait till I was 18 to do any piercing other than my ears. I gave up on my piercing dream for about 5 years, and then I found a new piercing. I wanted a sexy eyebrow piercing.

I decided at around age 15 that I didn't want my nose pierced, my fingers were too stumpy to fit up my nose to properly clean and fiddle around with a nose piercing. I saw more and more people at my school with eyebrow piercing and I thought they were so sexy. I asked my mom again and this time she said no different from the first time. I had to wait till I was 18. I harped about how people younger than I was had it done so why couldn't I get it done? I picked on the fact that she has 2 tattoos and those are worse than a piercing. After about 3 months of my whining I stopped because it became clear she wasn't going to budge. I became more involved in getting my license and joined the school swim team. For a year she never heard about my want for a piercing until the summer before my junior year. My best friend Jessica's step mom almost took her to get her lip pierced and I was jealous. So I asked my mom again if I could get my eyebrow done. She asked if I was going to do swim team the next year. After a month of negotiations we decided that if I did swim team again and I really researched the piercing she would let me get my eyebrow pierced after the championship was over. I was so happy even though it was over 6 months away. I didn't care; I was going to get my eyebrow pierced like I had wanted for so long. I spent all my free time online looking things up on BME. I looked at pictures and read experiences as much as I could. I learned all I could.

Months passed by and as the end of February approached by 17th birthday came and went and swim team hadn't started yet. It turned out the coach got into an accident and practice was delayed. I freaked out because I thought my mom would take back letting me get my eyebrow done and asked her if I still could even if swim team was canceled. She said she would let me because it's not my fault if it got canceled. I was so happy. A few weeks after the first practice came and I had a severe cold at the time. I went to the second practice and tried to swim but because I couldn't breathe right and was out of shape, I cried and gave up. I quit and told my mom why. She agreed it was just to hard with a limited season and being sick for the first week. I asked if still could get pierced, she said yes to my surprise as long as we stuck with the same date as before, after May 30th.

I waited and May 30th passed, we decided to not do it because I got my tonsils taken out on May 21st and it was too soon after surgery, I was still in pain. I waited for 3 weeks and then we were going to go on vacation. I didn't want a fresh piercing on vacation it was too much to worry about. I pushed it back; when the vacation fell through I was ready. Unfortunately we quickly ended up going on many 5-day trips to the lake and there was no time for me to get it done and give it a few days to heal. Around my dad's birthday, July 3rd, we went to the lake for a week and I wasn't going to go with a new piercing again, too much to worry and camping is dirty. So I pushed it back, but I kept asking my mom making sure she was still going to let me. When we got back we planned another vacation for a week in Palm Springs at a resort the first week of August and I knew after that vacation I was free so it was time to research where to get it done at.

There are plenty of places in San Jose to get pierced, if I really wanted to just do it. But my mom was coming and wanted to make sure I got it at a reputable place, one of her friends got her nipple pierced years ago at a place called Body Exotic in downtown San Jose. I went to their website and read up. They had photos, aftercare info and all the rules and laws. They had piercer biographies and an appointment maker. I asked my mom when was a good time, and we planed to have it lie after a payday for her. We picked August 21st at 12:30pm. It was over a month away at the time but I marked it on the calendar and was so excited! A few days later my best friend Jessica made an appointment the same day and time as mine, we were going to do it together, finally!

I got back form vacation, and 2 weeks passed by, I was getting more nervous by the day. I was ready to do it. My mom asked me about 50 times if I was sure I wanted it. I had my adult friends make fun of me and try to scare me and though it worked I didn't care I wanted it for this long I was doing it. We went there and the place was empty except 2 piercers. I filled out forms, had my mom sign the papers and bought the jewelry. I asked if I could wait for my friend and he let me. She arrived and filled her stuff out. I was first and went into the back. I had planned on holding my moms hand but they wouldn't let me so I grabbed into a beanie baby they had back there as fast as I could. He told me I pluck my eyebrows too much and it would look weird. I picked my right eye and was going to get a 16g curved barbell. He put on gloves and explained what was going to go on. He told me not to be scared and just relax, its quick and easy. He cleaned it with clear stuff, then iodine then again with the clear stuff. Then he used a toothpick and poked where he was going to put it, I was fine with it if he thought that was the best place then cool with me. He marked it again and then told me to lie down. The last thing I saw was him poking me with the toothpick again. I am such a big wimp I saw so scared I would cry like a baby but I didn't. I closed my eyes and he instructed me to breathe in and out and kept talking to me the whole time. I felt a poke like the toothpick again but when it hurt a little more I knew it was really happening and I made a squeak. He continued through my skin stopped half way and re-griped and went on going. The sensation was magic and though it didn't hurt anything like I thought it still hurt. I could feel it sliding through and it felt awesome. He finished said he was done, put the jewelry in and helped me up. He told me how to clean it and sent me on my way. I came out white as a ghost and sick to my stomach. I couldn't believe I actually did it. He ordered me to sit "\Ãw"ë for a while so I don't pass out of throw up. My mom paid and went crazy asking questions. She ended up more nervous than I was. Jessica got her lip done after and we were both so hot.

For the next hour or two I was antsy and in disbelief that it was done. I showed my dad who the whole time didn't really care if I did it or not. He was surprised and asked, "Is that it?" I was so happy he didn't care. I saw some other people who had the same reaction and was so happy and proud. Now, it's one month old and beautiful. The piercing was such a great experience I'm glad I didn't chicken out. Body Exotic in San Jose is an awesome place to go. They are safe, clean and knowledgeable. My piercing hasn't crusted much if at all and I clean it 2 times a day with ear care solution but Bactine (liquid) works too.

I recommend Body Exotic in San Jose for any eyebrow piercing they rock so much, and a huge thank you to BMEZine.com for being such an awesome resource. I only hope this experience though long and boring can help anyone researching an eyebrow piercing. Never give up you'll regret it if you don't do it is so easy and will make you so much hotter.
