I've had my ears pierced since I was younger and I loved them. For a few years now I've really wanted a piercing other than my ears. I knew it would never happen though. I had asked my parents about it around a year and a half ago and they said no. And I knew they wouldn't now because they wouldn't even let my sister get anything done and she was almost eighteen. I had pierced my ears myself before, and gauged them, and I had thought about doing something else my self, but I never thought I could ever go through with it.

It was about two weeks ago when I decided I REALLY wanted a piercing now. More than ever. My boyfriend had gotten his lip pierced and I was so jealous. I always wanted my lip pierced. I wouldn't do my lip myself though, I was too scared, and my parents wouldn't let me get it done professionally. Oh well. I wanted a piercing so bad though that I didn't really care what it was. Eyebrow piercings weren't my first choice, but I still liked them. Then about a week ago, I was just like "I'm going to do it!" I was determined. So then a few days later I had my sister bring me to a piercing shop nearby where they sold all sorts of piercings. I found some curved barbells I liked, and they were buy one get two free, so I got three of them.

I got home and waited until later on that night to do it when my parents were asleep so that I would have no interruptions. I used a needle that my sister had bought a while ago that came in a package with all different sized needles. I used the largest one which was about a 16 gauge. I soaked the needle and the barbells in hydrogen peroxide. I brought a bunch of tissues and paper towels in my room so I could place everything on them. I also brought some ice cubes in there too. I had everything set up. I also took eyeliner and marked where I was going to put the needle in and where I wanted it to come out.

First I put the ice cubes on my brow for a minute but quickly decided that I just wanted to get it done with. So I pulled my eyebrow out a little with my left hand and tried pushing the needle in with my right. It didn't work that well. I couldn't push hard enough to get it in with one hand, and my hand seemed in the way. So I got some tweezers and tried holding my eyebrow out with those. That was even more difficult than using my hand. So I tried it with my hand again. Somehow I got it to work. I pushed it through the first layer and felt the pop. It didn't hurt at all so far. Then I kept pushing and it was going pretty smoothly. It was just the very last thin layer of skin that was a little harder to get through. But I just pushed as hard as I could and it went through! So then I took the needle out and was getting ready to put the jewelry in...and my mom knocks on my door. I tell her to hold on and I put my hair in my face to cover the marks. She talks to me for a minute then tells me she's going to bed. So then I know I won't get anymore interruptions. I go back to business.

I try putting the curved barbell in and I can't. I can get it half way through, but not out the other end. I try and try, then finally I see the barbell coming out the other end and I keep pushing and it won't go anymore. I realize there is too much skin in between and the barbell isn't long enough. Shit. I try putting in a hoop I have, but I can't get it in. I decide to make another hole. I kept the same top hole and just made a new bottom hole. It was quick and easy. I try putting in the curved barbell again and it just won't work. And in between trying to get the curved barbell in, I kept putting the needle back in just to make sure the hole isn't closing and is fully there. My eyebrow was a little sore while doing it but didn't bleed or anything. Then, one of the times when I was putting the needle in again, I kept it in there for a moment. I took it out and BAM. Blood just starts gushing out the holes. Out of nowhere. So I hold a tissue there for a few minutes, and after about five to ten minutes, it finally stops. And I go back to trying to put the barbell in. FINALLY, after a while, I get the barbell in! And it actually fits!, not too long, not too short. Perfect. I was so happy. I cleaned it up a little then went to bed. I couldn't feel it at all and it wasn't sore. I woke up the next morning and there was a little bit of dried blood near the bottom hole, but other than that it was just a little swollen. I've been cleaning it everyday and it looks great. It's been a few days and a lot of people says it looks good, so I'm happy with it. The only thing is my eyebrow is a little bruised, but I'm hoping that will go away soon. My parents still don't know about it, I've been hiding it with my hair. But I'm very happy with it and I don't think it could have come out any better. I don't suggest anyone do this though. And if you can, you should definitely get it done professionally.
