I have always been way into piercings and tattoos, planning with my friends to go out on my 18th birthday and be scarred for life together. This worked out well because I am the last of us to turn 18. Becky turns 18 in March and she's not entirely sure if she wants to wait for me yet. Claire turns 18 in April and she may have changed her mind. Laci, hell, she could already have everything she wants, she doesn't have to wait to turn 18. Well, as it grew closer and closer to my 17th birthday, (July 28, 2004) I got this growing need to get my eyebrow pierced. I mean, I had always wanted it, but for some reason the want grew into a neccessity. All I could think about was the rushof getting it done and all the cute jewelry I could wear. Everytime I saw somebody with their eyebrow pierced, I grew insanely jealous and envious. I wanted it soooo bad. So, I decided to approach my mother with my idea...

BIIIIG mistake. At first she was all for it and told me "Sure, you can get it done!" So a few days passed and I reminded her and she completely blew up and told me there was no way she was going to let me get my eyebrow pierced! I mean, why on earth would any normal person want to put a whole in there face?!? I guess the correct response to that would be "I don't know? I guess you should ask a normal person," because I definitely am not normal. But after several instances of going back and forth between yes and no, one day she randomly says "Hey Sarah, ya still want your eyebrow done?" To which my response is "Duh?" So she says "Get your shoes on now or we won't go..." Needless to say, I about flew off the couch and down the stairs into the waiting car.

The whole way there I was anxious and wondering whether or not I was about to make a big mistake, but moreso whether I should get it on the right or left. I decided to get it on the left because I have my cartilage on my right ear pierced. So we walked in, we told them what I wanted, she paid them, and was sat down to wait. As I waited, I looked around at all the tattoo designs on the walls and all the people waiting to be marked or hole-punched and could barely believe I was actually about to go in there and get my eyebrow pierced. There were people getting tattoos on their necks and people getting their nipples and genitalia pierced and I was so psyched/freaked out about this tiny little thing. Not more than a couple of minutes passed before they called my name out like in a doctor's office. She said "Follow me," and we went into a back room. I was pleased because from the second I walked in the door I could tell the place was clean, from the smell to the gloves. I just felt safe... Not to mention it was the same woman who had pierced my cartilage which I am extremely pleased with. She marked where she would be piercing and let me confirm, cleaned, prepped, and asked me to lay down. I closed my eyes and felt the cold pressure of the clamp. All of a sudden I could feel the tingling sensation of the needle going through my face. All I could think was "Well, It's too late to turn back now!" not that I wanted to. She put in the barbell, and I sat up and looked in the mirror. It looked great and it was barely even red. We said goodbye and I went home with a new hole.

I have had it for about a month now and I am still in love with my new hole. My sister is now deciding whether or not to get her's done, and other than my dad's initial anger at being uninformed of my decision, everyone has been amazed and envious (especially my buddy, Becky) at the work that was done. I couldn't be more pleased with it. I have never had any problems with it, and I never took any additional precautions. Just the standard cleaning 1-2 times a day. If you are considering getting your eyebrow pierced, I say go for it!

I fully intend on getting additional piercings in the near future. These would most likely consist of my nipples, tongue, ear (industrial), navel, and clitoris, if not more. Tattoos are also in my future and I definitely know this is a good, clean, friendly place to go. I will most certainly be returning for my other piercing and tattooing needs.
