I've wanted to get a real piercing for so long. I have my ears pierced twice one each ear and a cartilage piercing, but I wanted something different. I wanted something that little girls walking down the street don't have. Seriously, even babies get their ears pierced now. So I decided to get my eyebrow pierced. I asked my parents about a week ago, and they said it would be okay! They want me to get my nose pierced though. I really don't care for nose piercings. I want to draw the attention to my eyes, not my nose. Anyway, today we were shopping at a pet shop that is right by seaboard street. For those of you that don't know, seaboard street is called piercing street by us locals. I asked my parents if we could do it today, and they actually said yes!

There are over 20 piercing places on seaboard street, so I chose the one that I've heard good reviews of. The name of the place is Professional body piercing by jackie. It's advertised as 100% painless (upon request) The woman that does the piercings is named Jackie, and she is a registered nurse. When we walked in the door, Jackie was on the phone, so I looked at some body jewelry. Jackie came over and asked me what I wanted, so I told her I wanted my eyebrow pierced. Jackie is the coolest woman piercer I've ever met! She looked at my mom and dad and said she had the perfect little barbell for me that they were sure to approve of. My dad signed the papers for me, and she scanned his I.D. He had to sign some type of release form. Then, she asked me if I was ready to get pierced. Before we went into the room, she started playing a documentary on the tv that she was featured in. She said it helps parents calm down and feel safe about the whole needle through skin thing. I think it did, cause my mom started gaining her color back!

Before we went in, I noticed my dad looking at nipple rings. I asked him what it was all about, and he said he has wanted his nipple pierced for over 5 years. Jackie asked my dad if he wanted his done. He said he was thinking about it. Jackie and my mom kept trying to convince my dad. He picked out a little gold captive bead ring. When he heard the price he decided not to. I think he'll give in after a week of convincing though!

We walked into a clean white room after that. There was a nice comfy dentist-like chair that I got to sit in. My parents were watching by the window. Jackie kept holding up the individually wrapped needles, and other things, so my parents would know it was sanitized. Then, she started numbing my eyebrow. She used this really neat liquid stuff and had me hold a cotton pad over my eyebrow. The clamps went on next. On this site, I always read about how the clamps hurt and everything, but I didn't even feel them. Then she had me take a deep breath. A few seconds later she handed me a mirror. I was surprised to see a barbell! I hadn't even felt it at all. The whole process is so fast! I was expecting it to take a long time! I left the room and she went over the aftercare procedure with me and my parents. My dad said he was watching the whole time and I didn't even flinch. It could be because I DID NOT feel it! My mom, apparently, had left the area. She is weak stomached. She almost fainted getting her ears pierced.

Anyway, I went up to the counter to pay. It came to sixty three dollars, but I wanted the salt water stuff so it was eighty three dollars. I only got it pierced 3 hours ago, but I can't even feel it! Well, maybe I can feel it a little bit, but it doesn't hurt. It feels like.. nothing. It's very hard to describe! Honestly, I think ear piercings hurt worse than my eyebrow, so if you want yours done, go ahead. Just be careful. A lot of tourist come down here and think that it is safe to get pierced in a beach store. The people in beach stores down here are not certified and DHEC inspected. I recommend any place on seaboard street. Most of the places on Seaboard street are DHEC inspected and certified. They use autoclaves and everything. When you walk into a beach store, it doesn't have the whole medical smell. The piercing places on seaboard street do. Thanks for reading this!
