Suddenly, I think that I have a problem with piercing. I think that I am a little bit addicted to piercing. I tried to explain it to my grandma, but she just mocked me. Everyone I tell, they always tell me not to go over board. I come from a white and black family, so the opinions vary. But one opinion was common between the two....Don't get my eyebrow pierced! Well guess what? I did (laughs wickedly). In fact, not just an eyebrow piercing, but I got a horizontal eyebrow piercing. I know that when everyone sees it I will get in so much trouble but who cares. Here's the story!

Before my eyebrow piercing, I had only 6 piercings. I had a Helix Industrial, Tragus to Conch Industrial, Inner Conch Industrial, Tongue Piercing, and a lobe piercing in each ear. Not a lot huh? I decided that I wasn't going to stop there. I created a whole list of every piercing that I want (and have). The grand total came up to twenty-seven piercings, most of which are in groups (like the five point star navel project and the two frenums, etc.) Next on my list was an eyebrow piercing. So many people in my school and so many people on this Earth have vertical eyebrow piercings. I already have normal piercings (in which I am going to make them not normal) so why would I want to contribute to that list. Anyways, while searching through the net, I stumbled across BMEzine.com (somehow). I started to explore the site and picking out which piercing I am going to next. I saw the horizontal eyebrow piercing and said to myself "Damn, I have to get this piercing before anyone in this town gets it." So I did some research and stuff before I got the piercing (thanks to BME). I visited my piercer and asked her how much it'd cost and everything and then she did a check up on my ears (which I got pierced two and three weeks prior). She told me that the piercings were heal pretty quickly. I had noticed that whenever I had a wound or something it would heal fast. I figured if my ears healed fast then surely my eyebrow would too.

I set up an appointment for three days later (on Wednesday). I couldn't wait to get it done because I was craving major attention. I wanted to get most of my visible piercings done before school so that everyone would notice the huge change. Anywho, the day before I got my eyebrow pierced, the anxiety was killing me. I couldn't wait at all. I told everyone I knew, and everyone that would care, the good news. Then the day arrived.

I ran my usual errands. I went to work, cashed my check, and headed to the bank. On the way to the tattoo parlor, we decided to go and grab something to eat, since I heard that it's best to eat before you get pierced. Then I walked slowly towards the door of the tattoo parlor. I went inside and met the piercer at the counter. Maggie, the apprentice (I think it's a cute word), filled out the paper work and got the jewelry that I needed and then she told me to wait for the piercer. I swear I think she hates me because she sounds mad whenever she talks to me. Anywho, I sat down and talked to my mom anticipating my new piercing. I was drinking my shake when Maggie, the piercer (I know that it is also the name of the apprentice but they swear that they are not related, even though having the same first name has nothing to do with being related), came in. She took me to her back room and prepared me.

She swabbed my eyebrow and then she grabbed her measuring thing (which I'm sure can be called a ruler) and she measured the place where I wanted the piercing. Then she grabbed the bar and stuff and then she grabbed the needle. She lubed both of them up. Then she grabbed the clamp (which was painful when she clamped the hell out of my eyebrow). Then she asked me if I was ready. After I said yes, she told me to take a deep breath in and out. She stuck the needle in and I barely felt it. I felt the clamp a hell of a lot more than the actual needle. She stuck the jewelry through and then that was all. It was virtually painless...until I got in the car. It stung but not so badly! The worst part of the piercing is that, within three hours of getting it done, I almost knocked it out. This piercing is really cool. If you are thinking about getting it, I recommend it.
