For years, I have been intrigued with bridge piercings, however, I was not sure if I wanted one for myself. Body art has always been a passion of mine, but the bridge fascinated me in a way that I can not adequately describe in words. I had only actually seen one done, personally, but in the past few months, I decided that a bridge piercing is exactly what I wanted for myself.
At A Glance Author Sher Contact Sher@bme.anon When It just happened Artist Melissa Studio Crystal's Tattoo Location Bradenton,FL Once decided that I was going to go ahead and do this piercing, I did some research on the internet, mostly through BME. After reading every experience that I could get my hands on, and looking at every picture that there was to see, I made up my mind to have it done as soon as possible.
Luckily, I already had an artist that did several of my piercings, and many of my tattoos, so I did not need to search for a reputable studio. I trust her opinion, when it comes to my body art, have the utmost confidence in her to handle any of my piercings. I am lucky in that respect, and it was definitely comforting to have someone that I already know do my new piercing. On the day that I went to her, for my bridge piercing, she told me that it was generally a painful piercing, due to the fact that the needle must be pushed through more slowly than with other piercings, to assure proper alignment, and that it may very likely cause bruising. Even with the thought of more pain, I was so in love with the bridge piercing, that I was willing to endure whatever it took, and if it bruised, I could live with that. After all, it would eventually disappear. Melissa asked me several times whether or not I was sure that I wanted to go through with it, and of course, I replied with a confident yes.
While she handled the paperwork, I sat with Crystal and looked at BME on the web, once again, to look at pictures of bridge piercings, and the general placement of the piercings. At that point, my mind was already made up, but I still enjoyed looking at the pictures. Before long, Melissa called me and said that she was ready. First, she marked the entry and exit points, and as usual, she got it perfectly straight on the first try. She had me lie down, flat, in the chair, and she sat behind me, as she cleaned the area to be pierced. Thinking of her earlier words, about the piercing being painful, I began to become more nervous as we went along. Before I knew it, she was ready for the actual piercing, and I steeled myself for some serious pain, as I said that I was ready. Despite the thought of the pain, I made sure to keep my body completely relaxed, to ensure that I did not accidently move. I did not truly feel the needle until it was halfway through, and it was merely a slight twinge of pressure, then the next thing I knew, I felt it pop out of the other side. She asked me to ready myself, as she pulled the jewelry through, and I really did not feel much with that either. I was amazed, that after all of the self-preparation, the piercing was virtually painless. I had to lie there for a few minutes, while she held pressure on the sides, to stop the bleeding, and in no time flat, I was done. I could not believe that it was actually over already. It surely seemed much quicker than it really was.
As I got out of the chair, and stood up, everyone in the studio checked out my new bridge piercing and said that it looked great, and was perfectly positioned. I stood there while everyone looked, but I was dying to see how it looked for myself. As soon as everyone was done looking, I got a chance to look in the mirror, and it was love at first sight. As they said, it was perfectly positioned and it looked great. I was completely thrilled with the way that it turned out, and now I was ready to go show it off.
Today, which is the day after the piercing, I have virtually no pain, whatsoever, and there is not any bruising at all. It looks as perfect as it did when I first had it done. I still can not believe that I waited so long to have it done. I wish that I had done it much sooner, because not only do I absolutely love it, but it was one of the least painful piercings that I have ever had done, in my whole life. Plus, now it is my favorite piercing of all, and will surely stay number one on my list. For anyone who is considering a bridge piercing, based on my experience, I would just go for it, because it is so very worthwhile to go through a small amount of pain for such a beautiful piercing.
