Well I'm finally 18, took long enough. Now I had to decide what to do to prove to myself that I'm an adult. Well tattoo was out of the question, just not enough money on hand for that. And I've been looking to maybe get a piercing but the choices were endless. Now I'm a baby to pain, so some things are just way out there that I'd never get done.

Well I already have a labret, and I just wasn't sure what to get. Then someone suggested my eyebrow would look cute with a barbell through it. Well I thought about it, asked around a little bit, I even drew in two little blue dots where I thought it would look good. The idea of getting a piece of metal through my eyebrow became more and more appealing by the minute.
So the next day I decided to take a look online and check out some of the embellishments I can put in, and then I saw it, it was a dragon eyebrow shield and me being obsessed with dragons and fantasy I knew I had to have it. That was it, I was getting it done. I had to, the dragon was just too cute to pass up for under $25.00! Also I like the spiked barbells, I think I could pull those off as well.
Ok finally pumped up enough to get it done, money in hand, keys in the ignition and my friend in the passenger side for moral support and because I needed to show it off right away! Well we get out there, a 15 minute adrenaline rush drive. We find out the piercer isn't in that day, so that really bummed us out. So instead we went shopping, of course I couldn't help but stare at all the jewelry for lips and eyebrows.
My friend said she'd get me one if I didn't wimp out. Wimp out? Me, no that wouldn't happen. So I call her up the next day and she can't go with me this time, I call to find out that the man who is going to pierce me is there. So I call another friend of mine and we both go up there. When we finally get up there I find out it's a half hour wait. Well it was worth it, the half hour did turn into an hour but that place is really good and very popular so it's understandable.
The two of us started looking at tattoos, they had hundreds of tattoos in the back room where you can look and wait till they call you or find you to get what you need done. Finally one of the guys brings me out the form to fill out and asks me for my license. Since I was 18 I didn't need a parent. The guy who brought me out the form is now off with another customer talking about tattoos. So I find someone else and give him the form and it's about another 30 minute wait till Jerry was done with the tattoo he was finishing up for this guy.
Once he's done with the tattoo he asks me really politely if it's ok if I wait a few more minutes so he can eat because he hadn't eaten all day. I didn't find a problem with that, I don't want someone who's hungry and shaky to be putting this huge needle through my eyebrow. Me and my friend sit there talking, and he keeps messing with his hair. I'm like getting annoyed by this, I've never seen someone play with their hair as much as he has. So we start talking and that little butterflies feeling you get came around. It's a really exciting and thrilling feeling but also makes you a little nervous. He talks about the tattoo he wants, and the piercing he wants.
The place started to fill up again with more people, most of them coming in questioning about tattoos, hardly any for getting a piercing, which was just fine with me. Well finally Jerry comes back and thanks me for being so patient, my friend is trying to talk to me about something but I'm like "ok well, tell me when I'm done." So I go sit down in the chair, hand him the money and relax. He starts the prepping processes, cleaning my eyebrow, opening the barbell and putting it in some orangeish-brown solution, looked almost like iodine. He then draws the two dots, above and below my eyebrow, lining them up just perfectly. He pulls the gloves on a little tighter, and put the clamps on my eyebrow. That took about ten tries because he at first didn't have the rubber band tight enough and the skin around my eyebrows and above my eyes is really thin, but he finally got the clamps on.
The process was really quick, it hurt a little while the needle was still through my eyebrow and the clamps were on it, but as soon as the clamps came off and the piercing was in, it was so painless I thought it came out. Well he told me how to maintain it and how long it really takes for each piercing to close up and how long mine should take. He told me what to clean it with and how to clean it with out really hurting myself. So as I thanked him and made my way out I stopped by the mirror and looked at it. I was surprised, there was no blood anywhere. That made me happy because now I had to drive back home.
When I finally got home my dad joked with me asking me why I got another hole in my head and then I got my boyfriend who likes it and most of my friends think it is amazing. Kind of shocked that I got it, because I'm the only one who really has any body modification, and its only my lip and eyebrow!
I cleaned it while my boyfriend fixed my guitar and computer and it then just started to hurt, it just slightly began to swell, nothing really noticeable if you didn't really look. But I thought it would hurt a lot more, I was expecting it to bleed as I cleaned it, but it didn't. Now I had to finally go to bed which was a task, how to put ice on it, and sleep without half of my face freezing over? Somehow I managed to work it out and sleep comfortably. I didn't even wake up at night flinching from the pain of bumping it. Now when I woke up the next morning I got scared, I panicked because I thought it somehow fell out during the night and I was looking for it everywhere on my floor by my bed. I went to touch it and realized it was still there, there was no blood on my pillows or anything, and it hardly hurt at all. This was becoming a good thing. And cleaning it was easy too since it didn't hurt too much that I would freak out when I touched it.
So now its only 4 days later any there is a very tiny bruise that you can only see if you move the ball down or up on the bottom half closer to my eye. The tiny bit of dried blood is gone and hasn't come back since. I do suggest this piercing, it's fast and fairly painless. Also probably one of the easiest to clean and keep clean. And I love it, I think it fits me very well, it's an awesome piercing and pretty soon I'll get that dragon shield.
