Awhile back, around january of last year (2003), I had been begging my parents for an eyebrow piercing (I was 14). But they said no. Flat out, just like that. No Facial piercings til I move out of the house and can go myself. And I pouted. And complained. And whined. Still it was No. Obviously that didn't last long. :)

One night I was walking through the house wearing one of those clip-on rings, that makes you look pierced, and my step-father saw it, and said that if I wanted one so bad, I can go get it done, but I can't back out. So I was like Yes! this is the greatest day of my life! Woo! If only I could somehow do that for getting to a concert, but this was cool enough.

Well, they kept putting it off and putting it off til finally i was annoying them enough they finally said they would next week (which was now february). I though it was so cool because I was going to be able to get it done the day before Valentine's, and it would be a very cool present from my parents. Way better than chocolates, roses or even a diamond ring, ya know? But then they said I couldn't go. No transportation. It sucked. It ended up that I went with my mom to work, and my grandmother taking me to get it done. (how cool is she?)

On my way there, with all the threats of "I know you won't get it done." and "Your too chicken" and the like, I was getting pretty nervous because I despise needles and I am a chicken, BUT, I WOULD prove them wrong. Even if i sat there bawling like a baby on the way back. We walked in and there wasn't anyone there, save one lone tattoo artist/ piercer dude. We filled out all the necessary forms and he led us to a back room. I was shaking.

"Are you sure your ready?" he asked, and of course I said yes. There was no backing out of it now, even if I really wanted to. I had read much from others experiences on here and knew what to expect. He put the clamp on and told me to breath in, and out slowly and next thing I know I have a needle through my eyebrow. My grandmother turned away because a little drop of blood, and I was just sitting there with my eyes squinted closed.

Then he said it was done, and as I looked in the mirror, I was smiling like a cheshire cat. It had barely hurt, and looked better than I thought it would to boot. On the way home it started to get a burning/stinging sensation but I did my best to ignore it. I got to go back and throw it in everyones faces that I hadn't wimped out and my mother was in shock. Come to find out, they only let me do it because they thought I'd wimp out and not get it done. Proved them wrong. :)

The first night was okay, I like most people, got it done on the side I sleep on but I slept on it okay, it made it feel better to have a little pressure on it, and it wasn't as sore the next day, but I'm not saying to lay on it totally, because when I rolled over during the night and i pushed that ring, with it being 'crispy', it woke me up, but all was well. At one point I did have to sort of re-pierce it myself, and that did hurt, but besides that it healed fine, besides like two infections.

But of course it is a pain in the rear that there isn't as wide a selection of jewelry for it as there is some other piercings.(or maybe I just can't find them) Though I am perfectly happy with a plain spiked banana bell. And even after a year, I still have people at school come up to me asking me about it, and random people out in stores and such either asking me about it or insulting it. Like if it hurt or not, if it still hurts and one of my favorites is "Do your parents know about that thing in your eye?" And of course I wonder how that would possibly NOT know about it, it's not like it's something that you could easily miss.

And now, over a year later, I'm still loving it, though I have my eye on getting my labret done. And like everyone said, it has become a bit of an addiction, with it being followed my getting my cartilidge done, one done by myself and a tattoo. But my eyebrow is still my favorite and to this day I still think it's the best thing I've ever gotten on V-Day!
