DISCLAIMER: I have been in love with this site since I first saw it but I figured you had to pay money if you wanted to share your story. I recently found out through a friend that's not the case, so finally I can share this. But I warn you, do not try piercing yourself or others if you are not a professional. You could seriously damage yourself or someone else permanently. My story is a DIY, but I'm not encouraging it.

Almost a year ago (May 26 to be precise) I was going through some frustration over my parents, a concert and my birthday. I wanted to do something that would not only make me happy, but piss them off at the same time. What better way to do this than to get pierced?! But here was the problem...I wasn't exactly of age and my parents did not approve, so naturally I discarded that idea as soon as I completely thought it out. However, for kicks I held up an earring with a sharp end to my eyebrow. I think they are called starter earrings but I am not that sure. Anyway, I wanted to see if it would look alright on me , but naturally, you can't quite see through your hand so I figured, what the hell. I wanted to just push it in a little so that it would stay long enough for me to move my hand away. You know, get somewhat of an idea of what it might look like. But I guess I applied a little more force then I intended to and accidentally pushed it almost all the way through. I felt no pain what so ever, I felt nothing. At first I thought to myself, "What a stupid thing to do" but then I looked again and saw that I had really good placement, so I pushed it through the little membrane of skin that was left. Later on that day I went to the store, got a 14g eyebrow barbell and shoved it in. It took along time for me to eventually get it in because the gauge I pierced with was smaller than the barbell I purchased.

I haven't had problems with it at all. I took very good care of it. I researched the internet and found some sites like this that included risks and how to take care of piercings. I would not touch it or let anyone else touch it. I would clean the "crusties" off whenever there was build up. Unfortunately, I was unable to buy official cleaning products, so I just used anti-bacterial soap and Q-tips. So I guess that helped me keep my piercing problem free. But I recommend using aftercare products, because they will heal faster and better. My eyebrow generally took the normal length of healing time which would be around 6 months. The only problem I really had was convincing my parents to let me keep it. They told me to take it out once I got back from the concert, but I stood my ground and told them no. I lied and said it was a birthday present from a friend and they gave eventually gave in. They were not happy with the idea though. I have been giving it a whole lot of thought if I should get the other eyebrow pierced, or if I should stretch my eyebrow to a larger size, but I think I am pretty much satisfied with my piercing just the way it is. It might rip, or migrate, or possibly reject if I did anything to it. So I will leave it be. I think it was probably the best mistake I have ever made in my life.

I must warn you all, I had gotten so used to having my piercing in that I forgot it was there. My friends and I were all goofing around like we usually do. We got into a mild pillow fight, and well...you see my barbell has spikes in it and I guess it got caught on the pillow. Before you know it, I had blood running down the side of my face. I wasn't hurt though, just pissed. I thought it was completely ripped out. Can you imagine going through all that time, money and lying just for it to get ripped out? So I ran to the mirror and wiped off the blood, luckily it wasn't ripped out. It just got ripped down a little bit which caused it to bleed. But after awhile it was fine. I used some triple antibiotic ointment so that it would look like it did before it got ripped down, and now you really can't tell. Other than that little mishap, my piercing experience has been smooth sailing. Now if I could just figure out how to celebrate my 1 year anniversary...
