Not everyone wants new socks for Christmas. It may sound a little odd, but undoubtfully, it's true. Me being one of these people, and having liked the way they looked, decided I really wanted an eyebrow piercing. Then came the first problem...convincing my mom to let me get it done. At first she was a little hesitant and said no, but after awhile she said she'd think about it. During that 2 week period of her "thinking about it" I did a ton of research on the piercing, and told my mom about how I could totally keep it clean and look after it really well. Then she, knowing that I could properly take care of a piercing and knowing that I probably wouldn't shut up about it until I got it said yes. I was so excited! Even though I knew I would have to wait awhile it being November and Christmas in December I was so very, very happy.
At A Glance Author Jodi Contact Jodi@bme.anon When Three months ago Studio URGE My Mom and I decided we would go on the 20th of December. So I waited and waited and finally the 20th came. We left the house around 11:00, and let me tell you that was the longest ride downtown I've ever had, it seemed like we were never going to find parking! But eventually we did, and by this time I was very nervous. We decided to go to URGE piercing/tattoo studio, because I had gotten my nose pierced there and it was one of the cleanest and more reputable places in Victoria. When we entered the studio I was really, really nervous, and my legs were like jelly (I now do not know why I was so nervous since it didn't hurt at all). It was painted red and black with tattoo and piercing pictures on the walls, but nonetheless it looked very clean.
We went up to the counter and a man that was covered in tattoos asked what we wanted and we told him. He asked me what I wanted a ring or a barbell and either a 16 or 14g , I choose a 16g ring. Then he went over the aftercare steps...but I wasn't really listening, I got to keep the sheet with the aftercare instructions, and there was a really good song playing in the studio, so I just nodded and said okay a lot. Then when he was finished he took me into the piercing room and I sat down on one of the benches, they sort of look like the ones you see in doctor's offices. He was a really nice guy...and he had really nice eyes..., which made me feel comfortable, so I started to calm down a little bit. I watched him get the supplies ready. He unwrapped the needle and a new pair of clamps. Then he tied a rubber band around the clamps to make them tight. He took out a sharpie and marked two dots on my left eyebrow. I looked in the mirror to see that it was perfectly aligned the way I want ed and I gave him the OK. He told me to lie down and focus on my breathing, I convinced myself to calm down because I knew the more I thought it would hurt...the more it would. He placed the clamps on my eyebrow, which sort of hurt a little, but was bearable, and said he was going to put the needle through on the count of three...one...two...three. I felt the needle go through my eyebrow and it took about 3 seconds to go all the way through...but it didn't hurt at all, although my eyes did kind of water a bit, which is probably expected! He then turned around to get the ring (and I opened my eyes and saw the needle...which was really cool) and put it through which was probably the most painful part. I sat up and looked in the mirror I really, really liked it!
I left the piercing room and my Mom (who totally freaked out when she first saw it) paid for everything and we left. And honestly I think if my smile were any bigger leaving there, I would have dislocated my jaw. Now it's been almost 3 months since I got it done and it's healing really well( well...except for a mini infection I got that's now gone away, and the fact that I keep getting hit in the face in mosh pitts and the bead keeps falling off) . I'm very happy with the way it turned out. My advise for anyone who wants to get an eyebrow piercing is, go for it, as long as you make sure you clean it really well for as many times they tell you to a day, because I got a mini infection from not cleaning it (opps)!! It's totally not painful at all though, and you'll like the end result oh so very much!
