A few years back while I was still in high school, I really wanted to pierce my eyebrow. I thought is was such a cool piercing. No one that I knew had it, so I wanted to be a little different. Around that time a body piercing shop opened up right across the street from my school. I had always wanted to go and see the place so one day after class was over I thought I would check the place out. A couple of my friends and I walked over there to take a look around. Two brothers owned it and they seemed really cool. We stayed there for a while taking and things like that. They had a really nice shop, the place looked very clean. They even showed us there sterilizing equipment. Since I was underage at the time, they said I would have to bring a parent up there to sign for me recieve the piercing. So a few days later I finally talked her into it, and we drove to the shop. I couldn't wait!
At A Glance Author anonymous When Two years ago Here was my big chance, I was finally going to get my eyebrow pierced. The piercing went great, it didn't even hurt as much as I thought it would. The piercer seemed to really take his time and care about his work. And it even helped that he talked me through it. I kept the piercing clean and did everything like your supposed to, following the piercer's directions. When I went to school the next day all my friends loved the new piercing. Things were going great, and the piercing looked great. Not too long after that I started to notice there was a problem. Sadly the piercing was rejecting, and it broke my heart. I left the piercing in as long as I could, without it ripping out. I went to see the piercer who did it, and he said to take it out and he would repierce it after it healed some.
During the healing time I misplaced the jewelry it had first been pierced with, so I would have to pay for a new piercing. I couldn't afford it so my best friend offered to pay it for me. We all went up there again, and I couldn't wait. The piercer said this time he would go a little deeper so that way it might not reject again. I said that was fine. He first marked where he was going to put it this time, and I gave the ok. He then got everything ready to do the new piercing. I was worried this time might hurt more because of scar tissue, and it did but it wasn't too bad. As soon as he pierced it we all knew something was wrong. My eyebrow started gushing blood everywhere. It poured down my face, and we couldn't get the bleeding to stop. I could tell the piercer was worried, and said he might have hit a vein. He asked me if I was getting light headed, and told me to lay down. He used a large amount of paper towels to apply pressure on my eyebrow trying to slow the bleeding down some.
After applying pressure for what seemed like forever, it slowed down enough that I decided to go home. Once I got home I put a towel over it and went to sleep. That was enough excitment for one day. Over the next day or two the bleeding still hadn't stoped. It was no longer gushing, but it was still coming out slowly. I can remember being in class and blood ran down the side of my face. So I decided it was time to take the jewelry out. It still slowly bleed for a day or two. Then it started the healing process.
I haven't pierced it again since. And my eyebrow still has scars from both piercings. I don't know if it was my body not wanting the piercing, or the guy didn't knowing what he was doing. But I don't want to risk it again to just have more scars in the end. Looking back I should've taken more time to get to know these guys, and their work. They had just opened right before I got my eyebrow pierced, and I don't think I ever asked about their experience with piercings. In my defence I was just a teenager, but then mabye that is reason enough to wait a little bit.
I have had other piercings since, even became a piercer myself. My eyebrow was the first piercing I had that much trouble with. I always take that experience into consideration when I'm doing a piercing on someone else. So far my customers haven't had that kind of problem, and thats a great thing.
