About 6 months ago I had my eyebrow pierced, I had thought about it for a while and finally had the money and time to go through with it. My friend Becca decided to get her nose done at the same time. We were both 18 at the time. (For some reason when a friend decides to get something done too, you get extra confidence thus more excitement ensues.) I consider myself as having a pretty low tolerance for pain as well, so I was a little more nervous than Becca because she said she had a high tolerance, which made me feel awesome. haha I was a little bit nervous but the excitement took its toll over the nervousness in no time, I just wanted it done, and to be over with! I wanted to see it in my eyebrow!!
At A Glance Author ang When Six months ago Artist Steph Studio Rocky's tattoo Parlour Location Kamloops, BC, Canada We headed down to Rocky's and had to wait about 10 minutes when someone walked out with their belly button done. She was probably about 25 and was crying and had later learned she passed out right in the chair. Way to calm our nerves, lady. So then we went it there, I went first. She clamped me, which surprisingly did not hurt at all, I thought it would because I had read up on it and for some people the clamp was the most painful part. She told me to breathe in and out and on 3 it was going through. On 3 it went through, a slight prick but it honestly felt like nothing. I was still waiting for the pain part when it was over. It was so great. She said to look in the mirror and I couldn't believe it was done. So fast and so simple. Best 30 bucks i've ever spent.
When Becca got her nose done, it was the same procedure as mine except she felt more pain than I did. Her eyes were watering but Steph said that was normal. The thing that sucked was when we left the studio it was really windy outside, and all we felt was the wind going into our fresh piercings! Hurt like a bitch. We were both covering our new holes but it was worth every second, we were in such a good mood after and neither of us regret them.
Now that I have it, I love it so much, I think it suits me quite well and never had any infection problems or anything since the day I got it done, Steph was very professional about the entire thing and made me feel really comfortable. She got me and Becca to go to the health food store and buy Tea tree oil soap, which worked like a charm because I never had any infection after that.
Unfortunately, about 3 months ago, I had my eyebrow ring ripped out during a soccer game. It sounds gross but actually hurt less than I thought. It still sucked ass though. I let it completely heal over, and then got it redone by a lady in my hometown here. She did a really good job not irritating the scar tissue but still got it surprisingly close to how it used to be. This time around though the clamp hurt like a bitch, but the lady did it for free so I wasn't about to complain about the clamp. It seems she did it a lot less professional than Steph because she didn't mark my eyebrow, tell me to breathe, or anything, just a painful clamp and needle about 2 seconds later, it hurt more than the first time, but it was worth it, she did a good job. That is the one negative thing about the eyebrow, if you're into sports it's a bummer but usually I would have taped over it , that was the one day I didn't, my mistake! It still worked out well and i'm extremely happy I could ge t it on the same eyebrow and there wasn't much of a scar left at all. I was lucky! And if work gets in the way of your piercing, you can get a retainer, clear looking bar that fits through snugly. I had to use it for an old job, then I found a job that wasn't discriminatory, way to go me.
This is where everyone says if they recommend the piercing or not. I say do it if you have thought about it and think it would suit you... do it because YOU want it, not because your friends have it or because it's trendy. Don't even consider the pain thing because it was honestly nothing, it was a great experience, I'm getting my nipple done this saturday. I'll have a new story then. Thanks BME for giving me the info on all my piercings before getting them done. You rock.
