I got my eyebrow pierced in August of 2003. I first was interested in piercing my eyebrow when I saw some pictures on BME. I thought it was the coolest thing ever!! Well anyways, I decided I must have my eyebrow done and started to ask my parents if I could get it done. They said no right away, but I was determined to have it done. I studied the piercing online for a month or so,and my need for this piercing grew. I found information on the piercing, like how to take care of it, what jewelry would be best for me, ect. ect. I even submitted questions to BME just to make sure I knew everything there was to know about the piercing. I gave my parents information and pictures of the piercing, and they decided it wasn't so bad afterall, and let me get it done, as long as I paid for it. Wow, I wasn't expecting that for my answer!
At A Glance Author penguin butt Contact squirrel_girl87@hotmail.com When A year ago Artist I don't remember Studio White Mountain Tattoo Location North Conway, New Hampshire I called the piercing place up and asked some basic information, like if I could come in the following day and what not. The date was set, I was going to get it done the next day. I couldn't sleep because I was so excited. My brother, my boyfriend, and my mom were with me on the way to the piercing place. My anticipation grew and grew. When I got into the place, there was a lady at the front desk with tattoos on her legs and wanted information, like my birth certificate and my moms license to prove she is my legal guardian. She sent me over to meet my piercer, I feel so bad I can't remember his name, I know it started with a "W" though.. I decided on a 16 gauge titanium CBR. It was cute and blue. The man brought me upstairs and let me bring my boyfriend with me to hold my hand in case if I got scared. He made me feel really comfortable by asking about school and stuff like that. He cleaned and marked the area in which he thought my piercing would look best and asked me to ch eck if i liked the placement. I agreed so I sat down. This process was very quick. He clamped the piercing, I believe this probably hurt the worst out of everything, then shoved the needle through. Then he put the ring in. No blood at all. He told me to look in the mirror. I got up and walked over , I was glad I wasn't feeling dizzy or anything and I was amazed, I finally got the piercing done and it looked great! I couldn't believe it was me I was looking at, it definately upped my confidence. I came back downstairs and paid, it was 50$, and I included a tip of 5 or 10 dollars. I think that my piercing experience was good, it barely hurt , for those who are worried about pain.. I would compare it to tweezing my eyebrows. For cleaning they suggested salk soaks and bactine.
For healing, the first couple of days were the worst! my eye was sore and black and blue. Several times I forgot it was there when I was getting dressed and undressed, and in the shower washing my face. I think the next couple of days hurt worse than getting the piercing itself. The pain subsided after like 4 days. I waited about 10 weeks before I changed my jewelry. I then switched it to a barbell. I either changed it too soon, or wasn't wearing proper jewelery because the bottom hole was red. There was no pain or crusties at all, around the hole just appeared to be red. I later changed my jewelery and the red went away. I suggest for moisturizing your piercing use a teenie, tiny bit of tea tree oil, I used that and it worked wonders, maybe it will help you out too.
I currently do not have my eyebrow pierced anymore. I was in a serious car accident and the doctors took it out because I had to get surgery and it closed up. I was so sad! You really get used to this piercing, I thought of it as a part of my face. There is little tiny indents from where I got it done. For those of you who are thinking about taking this peircing out eventually, you should consider there will be scarring. I am not sure if I would get this piercing again, just because I am afraid of more scarring and know I probably won't baby it as much as I should because it wouldn't be new to me. I am very interested in monroes, verticle lips and tongue piercing. I think my parents will want me to wait until I'm 18 for those. For those who are thinking about getting pierced, just take good care of it, go to a good piercer and wear good jewelery. This is a fun and beautiful piercing so enjoy!
