Well it all started when I was about 11 or 12. I always had this love for piercing and tattoo's. I wanted to get my ear pierced when I was younger but of course mommy and daddy wouldn't allow that. My eyebrow would be my third piercing although when I got it I decided that I would get rid of my labret because my parents liked the eyebrow much more and I have to say, I was more satisfied with it myself.

So I was off to the Piercing studio to be poked. I decided on the eyebrow because I like the way they look and because I knew I would get less rap from my parents and family about the piercing.

I went on a day with my friend who was going to get her Nose pierced. We went in together and decided we would hold each others hands which we did. Her and I used to date and remained good friends, with piercing and tattoo's as a common likeness.

I have to admit I was so nervous and I kept on trying to compare the pain from the labret to the future pain of the eyebrow. I was prepared for the pain, but it hadn't quite sunk in what I was doing. Believe me, when all was done and over with, the eyebrow definitely hurt more.

My nerves were on the edge the entire drive to Peterborough, but what I really love about that studio is how relaxing it is and how inviting it is. Holly is a remarkable piercer and I don't think I would trust anyone else with my piercing. When I arrived I was looking at the jewelry that was on display waiting for Holly as she was speaking to a client or something on the phone.

I had two choices for what I wanted to be pierced with, either a $40 captive bead ring or a $45 barbell. I chose the hoop because I prefer how it looks over the barbell. After I chose, my friend and I (who was getting her nose pierced), were led into the piercing room, just beside the waiting room type lobby. There, Holly, prepared everything for my friend who was going first, everything came out of sealed packages and then was disposed of after the piercing was finished.

Before the piercing was done, Holly thoroughly went through the after care and risks. She also told be about how it may reject and what that means exactly. She marked where it was going to be pierced and I approved. The perfect location. She asked me to lay down because of my height. Not that I'm really tall, just that because of her height, it would be easier for me to lay down and be pierced.

She put the clamp on my eyebrow and prepared to pierce. I shut my eyes because I thought for some reason it wouldn't hurt as much if I did. She then asked me if I wanted her to tell me when she was going to do it or just to do it without me knowing the exact moment. I told her to just do it because I figured it would hurt more for some reason if I knew when the needle as going to poke through. She placed the needle and I felt it start to go through, she had to line it up with the other side, so there was a brief pause that seemed to take forever. Finally, the needle was all the way through and there was a new hole in my face before I knew it. She put the hoop on the end of the needle and pulled it through. She placed the ball on the hoop and closed it some using some sort of tool looking thing. I have to admit it really did hurt, more so than my labret or ear (of course). Holly apologized for it hurting, but it was ok because I was satisfied with it.

She suggested that it be cleaned with an odor free soap such as Neutrogena or Spectro Gel. I chose Spectro Gel because that is what I used to clean my labret and it worked perfectly.

Overall, the piercing stung for a while when I first got it, but now, the next day, it feels fine. However it is going to take some getting used to because can see the ring out of the corner of my eye. I keep tapping it thinking it's an eyelash or something.

I would definitely recommend Holly to all my friends, as a matter of fact, all of my friends already go to her for their piercings. The after care is simple, she is really friendly and informative. She goes through everything she is going to do and makes sure that any questions a person has are answered before she proceeds. The aftercare is simple and easy to follow. For anyone who lives in this area and is interested in getting a piercing, Holly is the answer!
