So I'll start off with some background...I'm no stranger to piercing. I've got three lobe piercing in each ear, one helix, and one tragus. The only one that I would say caused a bit of pain would be the tragus and that was bearable to me...I like to think I have a high pain tolerance. Well fast forward about 9 months, and my story starts there.

For a while some of my friends had been saying that I would look good with my eyebrow pierced, but I was hesitant because it's right on the front of my face and well... that worried me. Plus I was being told all these crazy stories, like it's going to make your eyebrow droop after being in for a while, and you'll have two huge scars on your face when you decide to retire it...blah blah blah...on and on and on. But I needed a change...I was bored with my plain everyday appearance and wanted something that shouted look!! So I told my closest friend and she was like Jenn!! You have too!! So that was the cincher. We made plans to travel on down to Slick and just do it. The only problem was my parents...
They let me do all the piercing on my ears because ears are easily hidden...eyebrows aren't. I first brought up the subject of another piercing with my Mum because I live with her. She definitely was NOT into the idea. So I asked my Dad and he was definitely NOT into the idea. Eventually I convinced them that it was my decision and if I didn't do it now...I would do it later, and I assured my Dad that if anything went wrong and I somehow needed medical attention I would pay for it myself. So it was set...I wasn't allowed to but I wasn't not allowed to.
The next day after classes I met my friend and we walked to Slick Styled Steel, only a 5 minute walk from our campus. They are extremely clean and the pierces are very nice and informative...I had my tragus pierced there and had no problems with the place. Very sterile and clean. I told them what I wanted...a standard eyebrow piercing in my left eyebrow with a barbell. I chose the smallest one they had to ease my Mum's pain when I walked in the door after. Kurt brought me into a separate room, but you could see in coz there was a big window, and sat me down on this seat that could turn into a bed. My friend was allowed to come with me. He explained the procedure as he was sorting everything...in his gloved and clean hands I might add! All his "tools" came from sealed packages so I knew they were sterile and clean. He marked my eyebrow but it was not where I wanted it so he changed it and it was perfect. Then came the clamp...which ended up giving me a nasty bruise but more about th at after. Then the needle and it didn't hurt too much...my friend ended up squeezing my hand watching it and I didn't squeeze hers feeling it. I don't know if that explains anything. As he was explaining the aftercare I felt a little bit dizzy, and Kurt made me sit down and just relax for a couple of minutes. He was very concerned and made sure I was OK. Then he continued with the aftercare which was simple enough, just clean away the crustiest the first week and then wash it with antibacterial soap until the whole container is gone. So I followed those instructions and everything is perfect.
I've had it for about 3 months...so far so good. I love it a lot and I'm just hoping it doesn't migrate. The only bad thing is it gets caught in my hair sometimes, and the other day at the hairdressers he caught it on his comb...ooo...that wasn't too pleasant. Other than that it's been great and I'm very glad that I got it. I tried to change it a couple of weeks ago but I couldn't unscrew the ball form the barbell. I wouldn't let anyone help me because I know how much to pull until it hurts and they don't. I'm planning on going back to Slick for them to change it, and to ask them not to screw the balls on as tight as the first one.
Next up is a helix orbital...even though I promised I wouldn't get any more piercings!! I never promised anything about tattoos so that is another project I'm currently working on...designing the perfect tattoo that means a lot to me and I will be able to live with for the rest of my life. HAPPY PIERCING...BE SAFE NOT SORRY.
Peace
