I got my eyebrow pierced a little over a month ago. I went with my friend Valerie, who got her tongue web pierced (which looks so cool by the way). I've wanted an eyebrow piercing for about 5 years now, ever since I saw Bad Ass Billy Gun of the New Age Outlaws (WWF Wrestling) with one. I had to wait until I was 18 though, because my mother would never let me get it done as a minor.

So me and my friend went to the Village to this guy that she knew would pierce her, even though she's underage. We were both so nervous. I kept on thinking I would pass out in the chair from the pain, and that she would die from having her tongue web pierced. We decided to eat first, and I was shaking so much, I could barely hold my pizza.

When we first got to the place, I was a little worried. It definitely did not look like a professional piercing site, but inside was clean, so I figured it was okay. My friend made me go first, which is good, because if I would have seen her's first, I would have never gone through with it. So I sat in the chair and asked the piercer all these questions - How much was it going to hurt? How long has he been a piercer? How do I take care of it afterwards? I wanted to make sure I felt completely comfortable with him before I let this guy stick a needle through my eyebrow. After he answered all my questions, he asked me where I wanted it, and I made my friend tell him because I was really too nervous to think. So he marked my eyebrow and cleaned it with alcohol or whatever. So I took my friend's hand and squeezed it for dear life, awaiting the pain I was so sure would come. Needless to say that it surprised the crap out of me when it was done in less than a minute, and I felt al most no pain at all. I had expected the clamps to hurt a lot, but I barely felt them. I felt the needle more, but it was just pressure, not pain. I was still waiting for the pain when my friend said "Wow, you're done!" Too afraid to look in the mirror for myself, I first asked her how it looked. When I went to see it for myself, I was soooo happy. It was really swollen and red, but it still looked amazing. Oh yeah, and I bled too, but it wasn't a big deal, so if you bleed, don't worry about it. I also had a small bruise, but it cleared up pretty quickly, in less than two weeks. Oh, and it was kind of hard to get the marker off of my eyebrow, so I walked around with a purple spot on my eyebrow for about a week.

I was actually in more pain seeing my friend get hers done than I was getting my own piercing, I was squeezing her hand a lot harder than she was squeezing mine.

Afterwards, I felt so amazing. It was such a rush. As soon as I got off of that chair, I automatically wanted another piercing. It was a great experience and I can't wait to get something else pierced. I hope to get an industrial and a labret soon.

So I would definitely recommend eyebrow piercings to anyone who wants a painless, easy to take care of, piercing. The one down side, for girls, is you have to wait awhile to do your eyebrows, I still have another week before I can wax them, so I would suggest getting them done right before you get it pierced. It's very easy to take care of, all you need to do is wash it twice a day. And when you first get it done, you should sleep with your head elevated, it reduces the swelling. And every once and a while, it gets swollen and hurts a little, but it's definitely worth it. It's a lot of fun to play with too, even though I guess you shouldn't do that. Just make sure your hands are clean, and you'll be fine. You also shouldn't let anyone else play with it, even though I love it when my baby sister plays with mine. I clean mine with SoftSoap antibacterial soap, the nonscented kind, and it seems to work really well. And I make sure that nothing else gets in the hole, like hair ge l or shampoo or anything. All in all, it was a great experience, and I would definitely suggest an eyebrow piercing to everybody. Just make sure you're comfortable with the piercer, and that all of the equipment is clean and sterile.
