One day my friend came over to my house and told me about her friend who had her eyebrow pierced. She said that we should get it done too. I had never even thought about getting that done until she mentioned it. I looked up pictures of it on the internet and asked people if it hurt. We saw people who had it done at the mall and we thought it looked pretty good. I was only thirteen in the seventh grade and I would be the only one in my grade with a piercing besides the ears.

I asked my mom first because she was a bit more easy going. She said no at first but after a little begging she gave in; she even got her navel pierced the same day as I got my eyebrow. My dad hated piercings and tattoos but gave in.
The day we decided to do it I was really nervous and excited at the same time. We went to the piercing studio. It was a bit of trouble because he needed my birth certificate and all this other shit. After going home a couple times we were finally ready. I paid and picked out my jewelery. Matt went over everything with me. After care, and other important things I needed to know to keep my eyebrow piercing clean.
Then it was time for him to do the piercing. I was shaking nervously because it was my first piercing besides my ears. He showed me the clean, new needle. He put the clamp tight down after he showed me where he was going to put it. That kind of hurt. Then he pushed the needle through the skin. It didn't even hurt! Even after the piercing I was still shaking but I really don't know why. It did sting a little after but only for a couple hours.
The jewelery stuck out at first and this was kind of annoying but soon it relaxed and I cleaned it and took good care of it until it was fully healed. I had the studio change my jewelery the first couple times because I didn't really know what I was doing. My piercing looked great! People at school told me that it looked really good and a frequent question was, "Did it hurt." My answer always was, "No not at all."
I got my nose pierced too so my face looked great with both piercings. Then I started to have some problems with my eyebrow. It would get crusty and red. I was picking at the crusty part the skin. I started to wonder if this was taking bits and pieces off of the skin between the two holes. I started to get nervous but never went to the studio to get some help with it. It hurt and soon I could see the jewelery through my skin because the piercing had become so shallow. Finally one day I tugged on it and it came right out. I was upset because I loved that piercing and I had only had it for 4 months.
The messed up piercing left a scar and little bump on my eyebrow and I was scared too get it again in fear the same thing would happen. But then one day I just decided to go do it, just 2 months after it came out. I asked Matt if the bump would be a problem in the re-piercing of my eyebrow and he said no. I went to the piercing studio and the same procedure took place. It hurt a little more but nothing to cry about. I could barely feel it and this time i was much less nervous. It bled after the fact but it was from the scar tissue in my eyebrow from the first piercing.
It was a bit infected after i first got it done but I used sea salt and soap. This helped it and soon it was looking just like it had before.
It is my favorite piercing on my body and I recommend this piercing to any teen or adult who wants a piercing but hates pain. It doesn't hurt at all. In my own opinion it hurt less then the cartilage of my ear. If you want a piercing make sure you always check out the studio. Infections can be serious and you should make sure the piercing studio you go to is clean and has experienced employee's. If the same problem happens to you where the skin between the holes starts to get thinner then do not pick at the crusty part. Try to use soap and sea salt to make the infection go away. If this fails then go back to where you got it done and have them check it out to see if they can help.
And remember piercing this yourself is not a good idea. It is only about $40-$50 and it is a lot more safe.
