Alright, It was the month before my 14th birthday, and all I wanted was to pierce my eyebrow. My older sister had it done for her 15th birthday so I thought for sure I had a full year to wait before I could get it done. Every week, I begged my parents to let me get it done, I even offered to pay for it, I just needed their signature. My birthday came, and I received a card and inside it said "For your birthday surprise, we are going to take you to pierce your eyebrow." Can you believe it? They are actually going to let me get it done!

The next day at school I told everyone about how I was going to pierce my eyebrow. I thought I was the best to be honest. I mean how many 14 year old girls get to pierce something. My dad picked me up from school and took me straight over to So Cal Piercing and Tattoo Parlor. We went here because this was the cleanest place in the south bay. Even though their prices were high, they were definitely worth it. We walked in and the room was very clean. There were a few people sitting on the couch waiting for their friends and there was a counter, with a girl sitting writing something. She had her lip pierced and she had tattoos all over. My dad told her I wanted my eyebrow pierced and she asked how old I was. When she found out my age she handed my dad a few papers that we both had to fill out and she asked my dad for a his ID to copy it. I filled out my birth date and the other necessary items.

A really attractive man named Philip peaked around the corner and asked me to come over, and he showed me what kinds of hoops/barbells I could choose from. I chose a cute curved barbell with blue stones at either end. It was 18 gauge because they don't let you choose what size you want to pierce it in there. So we went in to the back room and he closed the door. There was a mirror and a brown table, like a docter's one kind of, you know the soft kind. He told me to sit up on the table (my dad was still in the room watching me clinch the table because the butterflies were raging in my stomach) He had a dentist type table next to the bed with a small cup. The cup had some liquid in it and the piercing was in it too, being sterilized I suppose. He unwrapped the needle and a new pair of clamps. He tied a rubber band around the clamps to make them tight. Out came the sharpie. He marked one dot on top of my left eyebrow and one on the bottom. I looked in the mirror to s ee that it was perfectly aligned the way I wanted and I gave him the OK. He placed the clamps on my eyebrow, that sort of hurt a little, the pressure was unbelievable.

He told me to take a deep breath in when he told me. He said he would count to three... One...deep breath in, two, needles in, three...thats it????? It wasn't bad at all, a small pinch and thats it, he went to get the jewelry, and I looked in the mirror in front of me. There was a two inch needle sticking out of my eyebrow. I almost passed out because it scared me so much. He put in the jewelry, screwed on the top ball, and finished up the cleaning. I was done! I jumped off the table and stared in the mirror until my dad was done paying for it. He bought medicine for it,"Dr.Piercing's after care" It worked really well, and in about a week or so the pain was gone.

The ride home was fun, I couldn't stop staring at it. It was just too cute. I still love my piercing so much, in fact I went and got another right next to it. This is a great piercing to have. The only down side is after about 7 years or so, I've heard it falls out, but its definitely worth every cent. If your thinking about this piercing, its really up to you. Some people are really against visible body modification because of the reactions from friends and family, but if you have nothing against visible piercings, then definitely go for it. My friends and family thought it was a great piercing because its so petite. The larger ones push the limits in my opinion but since mine is petite it looks very lady like and is very cute. I would definitely go for it!
