Hey, I've been "obsessed", as my parents call it, with piercings since a very young age. That young age, would be 4. I guess you could say it was my parents' fault, by letting me get my earlobes pierced, so I guess you could also say it's their fault for what came next. Two years after that, I got my ears pierced again. It was a bit unusual for a 6 year old to have double lobe piercings, but I was and still am an unusual kid.

Next piercings and tattoos became very interesting to me even more at the age of 12... I got my upper right ear cartilage pierced; yet I was becoming bored with getting my ears pierced. A year later, 13 years old, I decided to get the area on my ears where the cartilage meets the lobe pierced on each ear and got that done...

During the summer of that same year, I wanted another piercing, but this time I didn't want it on my ears... I wanted either nose, eyebrow, or lip piercing. I wandered onto BME and started reading experiences and procedures about the piercings. Deciding that my parents wouldn't like a nose or lip piercing, I settled for the eyebrow and became, well, very intrigued by it.

It was three weeks before school was going to start, so I decided to ask my mom about getting my eyebrow pierced. She said no, but that was not an option for me, so I asked her again and got an "I'll think about it." Then I started looking up risks and things then running off and telling her...She finally caved in.

Now my friend Kim, had been wanting her eyebrow done since I had been yapping on about it all summer, yet her mom already agreed. So Kim and I were on the net searching for nearby tattoo and piercing parlors, then calling and getting the same reply, "You have to be 16 with a parent, or 18 without a parent." Kim actually got a brilliant idea for once, call someone our age who had a piercing besides they're ears done, so that would be a friend of Kim's. Kim called her friend and got the reply of "Check out Sexy Tan, they'll do it, I'm pretty sure." So when we were looking for the number, Kim's sister had called, who's about 17? I think, and had told us it was a statewide thing that no one under 16 with a parent could get a body mod, but she'd do it for us if we couldn't find a place. Well... she would've done it if we wanted it that bad, she also had experience... But we found the number, called, and got a reply, "Just need a parent." So, Kim's mom said "Kim, you're gonna be Kris ten's sister for the day. " And let Kim spend the night at my place and we'd get pierced the next day....

Now here we were, in the car, my mother driving us to Sexy Tans and Piercings, and there I am teasing Kim about being nervous. I kept asking her things like, "Are you nervous?" "You ready at add another hole in your body?" "Got the butterflies?" since I wasn't really nervous, just excited. When we got to the place, I just started looking at the barbells, my eyes lingering on the lip rings but knowing I couldn't have them, and then I finally directed my attention to the curved 16g barbells. I chose a spiked head, silver 16g curved barbell...and Kim picked the same just because she wanted these to be like "friend piercings".

Being me, I wanted to see the procedure so I bugged Kim into going first. She did and decided that she wanted me to hold my hand since I was the one who had the most piercings in the room. (14 on ears in total, belly button, and tongue... My mom had 8 on her ears, Kim had well none, and Linda had just a few like her nose and ears.) Kim gripped my hand so hard I had to pry it off of my hand when she was done getting pierced, my knuckles bright red and fingertips nearly purple.

Linda, the piecer, told me to sit on the bed like table as she got everything ready. She changed her gloves I don't know how many times, then started to clean my eyebrow, she then marked it, but then decided it should go over a bit more... then asked me, "Well, how do you want it?" I looked a bit confused and replied, "Huh?"... Linda then said, "Well, do you want it tilted out, which is more famine, or straight up and down? Which is more gothic and manly." I said straight up and down, I wear all black but I'm not really gothic, but there was no way in hell I was going to get something "dainty" as my mother would say.

Linda told me to lie down, and just close my eyes. I just got the slight case of butterflies as I did so. She then put the clamps on and without warning shoved the needle through my eyebrow, and it did hurt, so all I said was "Ouch" as my friend Kim had grunted all the way through when she got her's done... her's kind of stuck out funny... I felt a soft popping feeling as the needle exited the flesh of my eyebrow. She then slid in the jewelry, which felt cold and smooth. And there, I was done!

It's been about three weeks actually, and guess what... I want my damned lip pierced even more than ever!

My eyebrow is fine, I clean twice everyday, which was instructed, when I shower and before I go to sleep with DIAL antibacterial liquid soap and sea salt. The only things I've experienced have been soreness, the barbell falling out one time, and a bit of pusing and very little bleeding.

So if you want your eyebrow pierced, go for it! It doesn't hurt much, just like a strong sting for a momentary feeling. Just make sure you know the procedure and that you're sure you'll clean it.

My thirst for piercings has not been quenched, yet... Maybe if I get my lip pierced... In a few months, actually maybe weeks, I'm going to start slipping the fact that I want my lip pierced into casual conversations with my parents. J Happy Piercing!
