I read a book called 'The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Things' and the girl in it got her eyebrow pierced. After that, I was obsessed with eyebrow piercings. I thought about how cool one would look on me and began the begging. After pleading with my mom for about two months, she finally gave in to letting me get my eyebrow pierced. We waited a week or so before we actually decided to do it. I had to sit in the driveway for a minute before actually deciding to go through with it. I'm a very paranoid person and my mom said that if we went to the parlor, I wasn't aloud to back out, so she gave me the choice between the eyebrow and new glasses. I chose the eyebrow. She said she'd hold me down on the chair if I tried to chicken out. Not very reassuring.

She has this cute little sun and moon on her ankle. She said that Ken was kind of a scary guy and he said about six words to her: What color? and You want it here? She said there were pictures all over the wall and she almost decided to get another tattoo while we were there, but she ended up deciding not to. I think she should've, because when else would she happen to be in Batavia.
When we got there, a girl greeted us, and she had her own eyebrow pierced, but with a ring. She didn't look much older than I was and I don't think she worked there, but she was really nice. We signed the forms and I told her what I wanted. She advised be to get the barbell because the rings could turn and get infected easier. Her friends came out from the back and one girl showed me a tattoo she'd just gotten. It was a chinese symbol, but I don't know what for. My mom and I waited in the waiting room and looked through the pictures of tattoos, then Richie told us to come on back.
I was really nervous. Luckily, Richie wasn't the guy who did my mom's tattoo and he was much nicer. He had some good music playing and was singing along as he sterilized the stuff. He marked me up and put the clamp on. I didn't get told to do the breathing thing, but I guess that would've made it worse because I would be expecting it. My mom was holding my hand tighter than I was holding hers. The needle hurt when it went through, but I was glad when he finally got it on. Richie told me to wash it with anti-bacterial soap and then asked if it was true about Johnny Cash. My mom told him he had died, and I swear I thought he was going to cry. We talked for a little while and then my mom and I left for my aunt's house.
Mom was so worried about what my grandma would say, but she didn't say anything. She was more traumatized by my sister's purple and black extensions than my eyebrow. My grandpa didn't notice. He thought I had gone to get braces. On the way to the parlor, I had taken a benadril thinking it was motrin (hey, it was in a yellow bottle) which made me drowsy all through dinner. It was actually quite funny. My eyebrow stopped hurting half-way through dinner at Olive Garden, which was a relief, because I'm sort of a wimp when it comes to long-term pain.
I can't wait until I can get my ring changed. I want to get one with a black jewel and a white jewel for my school colors. I also like the one that the girl in Evanescence has. I keep looking up and seeing the ball in the corner of my eye. It's actually quite strange having it there. I'm always wearing my hair back, for two reasons: One, so everyone can see my piercing (hey, I'm proud of it!) and Two, so my hair won't get stuck in it! I can't wait until everyone at school sees it!
My friends Kari and Megan think I'm kind of crazy, but I don't care. They'll get used to it, as will my mom and dad. My sister keeps wanting to touch it, but I make her wash her hands first. She's usually too lazy to get up and do it. I heard that Bactine was good for piercings, so i went and got some. I've been washing it every morning and night with soap and then putting on the Bactine. If anyone has any advice on caring for my piercing, I'd kind of like to hear it. Other than that, I'm really happy with how it turned out!
