I remember like it was yesterday, actually more like a year ago but who's keeping track really? I don't remember the exact date but I do recall it happened in June sometime before my 16th birthday.
At A Glance Author hilda Contact really_reallybighead@hotmail.com When A year ago Artist Dianne Studio Metamorphosis Location Winnipeg,Manitoba,Canada I made an appointment at Metamorphosis which may I add are one of the best places to go in the city. I've been there before so I wasnt too nervous, their very clean and professional there, which makes my mother happy and is probably one of the few reason's she allows me to get pierced and doesn't mind paying the prices other than the main reason...she loves me . I got my eyebrow pierced there a year ago(2 years now)and an industrial 6 months ago(which is now going to be 2 years ago this coming December), and since I'm on the subject of piercing's and myself I also got both my nostrils pierced 6 months later, I have my ear lobes stretched to 16.5mm but I'm thinking of not going any further and maybe down sizing. I'm thinking of the possibility of getting an anti-eyebrow hopefully and maybe this October if all goes according to plan ;).
Okay so now for the tale of my experience, my apologies for getting side tracked. Before I even decided to make my appointment I was browsing through BME and just reading other people's experiences like you are now and deciding on whether or not to get a lip piercing, I was certain that was what I wanted but I kept looking around at pictures and reading experiences. I came across bridge/eyebrow piercing's section of the web-site and I really liked the way bridge piercing's looked and by just reading a couple experiences I realised that it was what I wanted. I told my mother this and showed her some pictures, she was kinda put off by the way it looked and told me I would have problems such as the possibility it would affect my vision and I would look cross-eyed. Her negative comments didn't stop me so they shouldn't stop you ;),they are untrue and I think it was just in her motherly nature to say things like that. All right so the big day came later that week after some con vincing and appointment making, I was so happy!
The plan was to meet my mummy at Metamorphosis, I was a little nervous on my way there but not in the bad way more in that Giddy way, when I got there I felt a little bad for being late but fortunately the kind people at Metamorphosis were nice about it. After the paper work was done, the usual sheet just asking if your allergic to anything, if your prone to passing out from the sight of blood, when was the last time you ate and etc. but be sure you do eat before hand though its important.
My mother came in with me, she always does and sometimes I feel bad for her because she has to watch everything and I know she doesn't enjoy having to see her daughter be pierced. She holds my hand any ways *insert 'aww' here.*
The markings and placement of it took about 45 min. Dianne(piercer) took her time making sure it looked proper. After we agreed on the markings and got a few other opinions it was NEEDLE TIME!
I had to lay on a table, not just any table the comfy piercing table where they probably do navel's, bridge's and things you can't while sitting in the comfy chair.
Dianne got the clamps out and clamped my face, they pinched more than I expected but it wasn't unbearable. She kept trying to adjust them and make them stay but they kept slipping off, I was a little worried I might not be able to get it done today but instead of using the clamps she said she would have to do it by hand instead. I had no problem with this because I wasn't too fond of the clamp any ways, I was afraid of it leaving bruises. When the time came for her to actually pierce my bridge I could feel the needle going through but there wasn't any real pain. It felt cold going in and that was pretty much the main sensation I felt and maybe a little pinching. She inserted the barbell and all was well, I got up to see how it looked in the mirror and I was happy! It looked great and I wasn't cross-eyed! Dianne being the honest and great piercer she is brought to my attention that it was a little crooked and that she would try and fix it for me by re-piercing it. She fixed it right away and gave my a smaller barbell and it looked even more amazing then it did the first time! I was very pleased! I thanked Dianne for doing an amazing job, then she went over the cleaning procedure with me. Cleaning a bridge piercing really isn't that hard, it's simple. I had no troubles and it healed fast without any infections or difficulties. And the moral of the story is to do what you think is best even if your mother thought otherwise, just go for it!
