I recently got my eyebrow pierced for the second time at my local body piercing/hairdressing (yeah I know weird mix huh) parlour at the University I attend. The first time I got it done, it grew out within 6 months (I found out this was due to the fact that I put a straight barbel in which places extra pressure on the skin over your brow bone) and so I was highly irritated.

I was on this day, thinking of getting my tragus done, so I called up the EZE piercing salon on campus and asked the body piercer how much for a tragus and then proceeded to ask if it would grow out as my eyebrow ring had previously. They were immediately concerned about my earlier experience and asked if I had got my eyebrow piercing done with them to which I answered yes. The piercer then offered me a deal I could hardly refuse to get my eyebrow done again for much, much cheaper the second time round so within minutes I was in the car on the way to the shop. I was so excited to be getting it done again cause although it grew out the first time I felt that it really suited me and I really liked the look. This added with the fact that it was going to be so cheap meant that I hardly even considered not getting it done.

I arrived at the salon soon after with my original jewellery (which was of course part of the conditions of the cheap piercing) and gave it to Paul to put in the autoclave to sterilize. He was very chatty and made me feel like this time my piercing would not reject. He was very confident and reassuring that if I looked after it properly I would have no problems what so ever. After this he went off to see another customer and I then bummed around for about 20 minutes while it was being autoclaved and looked at all the pictures on the wall of previous happy customers with their large array of piercing.

Paul soon walked out of his booth where he had been piercing another customer and informed me that my jewellery was autoclaved and ready to go. I headed into the booth where he dabbed my brow with antiseptic, put dots on my eyebrow where the entry and exit points would be and asked me if I was happy. I replied "I'll be happy when it's in and healed" and he laughed. When it came time to do the piercing I wasn't nervous at all. Paul put me completely at ease and also the fact that the last time I had got it done I couldn't remember it hurting that much allowed me to be calm. Before I knew it (Almost) Paul had put the barbel back in my face and told me to go and have a look in the mirror.

I was back to my former glory and was so pleased that I stood and looked at it in the mirror there for like 5 minutes before finally handing over my cash. Before I left though Paul handed me an Info sheet on how to look after my piercing and what to do in the (likely) case that it got infected as eyebrows tend to do (especially mine as it has spikes on the end and tends to get snagged or caught on clothing and stuff). He informed me that he was always happy to give advice and to ring any time i had problems, which I was most impressed and pleased about.

So far I have had absolutely no trouble with it. I think that the main reason that I had so much trouble with my first one was the fact that I was just too lazy to take all of the proper precautions in taking care of it and instead decided washing in the shower was enough.

My new eyebrow ring is in the exact same place as the original one was which i heard was bad for you but was informed otherwise by Paul, the only difference being that now I have a curved barbel. I love my piercing so much, and have continued to stare at it all week. I have had many positive comments from my friends and even my mum likes it. Next stop is a tattoo I think though I have not though very far ahead on that one.

I recommend the eyebrow piercing to anyone. If you want it, go and get it there is nothing to be afraid of. If you think it is going to hurt then try pinching your eyebrow firmly and you'll get an idea of the sensation, which in my opinion and experience was very mild indeed.
