After getting my belly button and nose pierced I was drooling for more!! It took a bit of convincing with my mom, but finally she gave up and said she was dis-owning me as a daughter (all shits and giggles of course) if I got my eyebrow pierced. I went around asking people if they thought it would be too much on my face, or if it was a good idea, and got some pretty positive replies! I was so excited to get it done, and kept coming onto www.bmezine.com to check out the pictures of other people and their eyebrow piercings. Seeing those pictures got me even more stoked and I was shaking with excitement and anticipation!!!

Because he had done my belly button for me before, I trusted in his experience and ability. I waited for awhile and watched some dude get his tattoo done, and then Matt came round with the papers and stuff. After charging me $45.00 (approximately) and getting my ID and such we proceeded to the "room". Feeling slightly nervous I went downstairs into the tiny tiny room (not very comforting, but its extremely sterile, so it works for me) with my best friend Megan. He sat me down and walked me through the whole procedure. After I explained to him my moms thoughts and feelings on the piercing, he told me he'd give me the smallest barbell to try and make ends meet. Matt's such a nice guy, huh?
He then took out the clamp and needle (all packaged and clean) as well as the barbell, gloves and alcohol swabs. He leaned over to mark the points on my left eyebrow of where the barbell would go, and got pissed cause I was shaking slightly and talking too much. But nice guy, he kept trying despite me being so difficult.
So after some deep breaths and two more tries he finally marked off the perfect spot for my new addition. I felt nervous but totally pumped and ready to go. I warned him about how I have a constant nervous talk whenever I get pierced and he said that was completely fine by him, as long as I didn't move when he was doing it. After a little while of us discussing his piercings and experiences, he decided it was time to get it done, so it began!
So he got me all prepared, I held Megans hand (yes, laugh all you want) and he told me to take three deep breaths....and....there you have it! I didn't feel the needle go through at all, and the barbell went in veeeeery smoothly. It hardly bled at all too! I was so impressed with his work that I couldn't stop marveling at it and thanking him. He of course ran me through all the cleaning and safety details, and gave me the instruction sheet on how to clean it. Although I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm crazy, he was extremely nice to me and made me feel completely secure and safe!
When I got home and showed my mom she was so happy to hear that he had given me the smallest one, and actually took a liking to it! Cleaning it was quick and easy, I used some antibacterial soap, and it hasn't gotten infected or been painful at all (except for the first week or so when it was tender). I've heard stories from other people about how theirs migrated and either fell out or picked up too much skin, and although I've only had it for a short period of time, it hasn't moved at all!
It's such a great piercing because its not the first thing you see when you look at me, but rather a nice accent! Friends and randoms seem to like it, and people say it suits me well, so I'm very pleased with that. I didn't want a piercing that stuck out more than anything else about myself, so I've succeeded in that sense! I've been searching for a barbell with diamonds on it, but I haven't been successful as of yet. I think I'll go take a look in Way Cool Tattoos....although I might be tempted to indulge in yet another piercing. I love my new buddy (my piercing) and I take him everywhere I go.
To anyone who is considering an eyebrow ring/barbell...go for it! If it's what you really want then theres no harm done! It's not too over-bearing on your face, and you can easily change them whenever you feel the need to! My personal experience was practically painless, and I've taken it out and put it back in numerous times without experiencing any pain or problems. Although sometimes my eyebrow has this weird twitch to it, I'm sure its got nothing to do with the piercing....I'm just....weird like that. Anyways, good luck to yah if you plan on getting the eyebrow done, and be sure to submit a story or pic on here when yah do!
