Eyebrow piercings have always been something that's been rather attractive to me. Along with bride piercings and such. A close friend and I decided that it's time for a new piercing. So we found something that we both wanted alot, and agreed to get it done the following day. Come that day, we all head out of town to a piercing studio to get our eyebrows pierced.

We get there and book a time, which was 15 minutes wait. So we look around at all the jewellery they have and we're called over to pick out the jewellery we want put in. We got the choices of a multi-coloured captive bead ring or a standard barbell. We both picked the captives and I went with pink with the black ball and he went with the blue with the black ball. We were all excited and were asked to fill out a form which declares that we are over the age of 16 and have no diseases and such. We're chatting away to one another and the person at the front desk. Then this other older ladies walk out, she had just got hers done. The lady that was accompanying her and looking after the kids while she was getting hers done gets all nervous and starts talking to me and asking me where we're getting ours done and what not. The first lady walks out and says it was no pain at all and she didn't even feel it.

After the other lady has gone in and out, my friend goes in. He goes in, I wait outside. He comes out, tells me how it didn't hurt and that they put numbing cream on and everything. It looked good. Really good. Come my turn, it was too late because we were too busy talking away. So I have to come back the next day.

Come the next day, I go in. I wait for the person before me to finish and then walk in to have mine done. All of the sudden my mouth went dry and I needed a drink. I don't know why I was nervous. It happens whenever I get a piercing. No matter what piercings I've had before, you'd think I'd remind myself of how much it did or didn't hurt with my other piercings. But my mind is blank, I needed a glass of water. So I got it and then sat down in the chair and the co-owner of the shop walks in to help Rhonda pierce my eyebrow and hold the clamp and starts talking away to me. I'm looking up at him not realising that she's already got the gloves on and is opening the packet of the piercing needle. She's about to put the needle through and I realise that she hasn't put any numbing cream on. So I really didn't feel it at all because I was too busy talking to the other guy. One thing I did feel, was the needle pushing through the skin on the other side. I wouldn't say it's a pain. Bu t it's just the feeling of "oh wow, a needle just went through my skin" kind of thing. I don't know, it's hard to describe.

Maybe Rhonda didn't put any numbing cream on my friends eyebrow and he just thinks she did, or maybe she actually did. But I didn't have anything put on mine. I've had my eyebrow pierced for over a month now, and there has only been very little infection since I have had it. There began an infection, but it went away because I was treating it 3 times a day, every day.

After Rhonda had pierced my eyebrow, she sent me out of the studio into the reception of the shop and the man gave me a piece of paper and read most of it out to me. The most important parts. He highlighted them, aslo. It was a certificate. Saying that I had got my eyebrow pierced at their studio etc. and once I had read the after-care directions, he had me sign it. What they recommended me to use to clean it and what not, they said and also on the certificate was to have clean washed hands and salt water, and after cleaning it to use betadine. My eyebrow healed quicker than my lip piercing. Because I took better care of my eyebrow piercing. The man also advised me not to touch it too much and not to play with or turn it when there is a build up of crust. I had crust after about a week, then I started to clean it more regularly and there has been nothing since.

One thing I recommend if you get your eyebrow pierced, is to get a barbell rather than a circular barbell. With the circular barbell, it's so easily knocked and it does hurt. I still get paranoid and picture myself walking close to a wall with something sticking out of it and picture myself getting it ripped. Once they're healed, eyebrow piercings are awesome! I love them. I love mine and recommend getting it done if you've been thinking about it.
