Okay.. so about 4 weeks ago I decided it was time to get my eyebrow pierced. I had finished school shortly before, and I was just waiting to get the money to do this. My ex girlfriend gave me a 50 euro bill saying that I should go and do the piercing, and she explained she did this because she promised me that my next piercing would be on her, for my birthday.

Well I thanked her etc, and made my way back home (as the piercing studio was closed at 1 am). I just couldn't wait for the next day to come.

Sooo, here I am, sitting in my bed, awake for 10 minutes or so, thinking only about the next few hours. I called my ex and we arranged to meet at the piercing place along with a friend of hers.

About an hour later we were outside "Unicorn", just looking at the body jewelery they had on display. I said "I'll do it now." and went in.

A 25 year old female welcomed me, and i said "Hi" and went up to a pierced & tattooed guy asking for an eyebrow piercing. The girl (named Catherine) then said "I'm the piercer..". I felt really stupid, but oh well. So I say "Oh sorry.. sooo how much will an eyebrow piercing cost me?" and she said "50 euros."

I said "Ok I'll do it." and she took me to a room in the back of the studio. The room was really clean, and smelt like a hospital. There was a bed that looked like the ones surgeons use. The two girls were waiting outside the room, watching us.

The conversation me and Catherine had was something like this:

Cath: Soo, where are you from? (at that point she took out her equipment, everything was sealed.)

Me: Nea smyrni (a place in athens), your studio is well known around there.

Cath: Yeah we have had lots of people from there coming here.

Me: Most of them are from my school.. heh.

Cath: What's your name?

Me: Alex... yours?

Cath: Catherine. Nice to meet you. (at that point, she has put gloves on and has unsealed all of her equipment.)

Me: Nice to meet you too.

Cath: Let me mark your eyebrow.

-so she did, I told her it was perfectly fine, and she put some numbing cream on it.

Me: Should i lie down?

Cath: Yes, please.

Cath: Don't expect the cream to do a lot, you'll still feel a slight pinch.

Me: No problem..

She then got the needle through, while i had closed my eyes. I was not anxious at ALL, it was a rather pleasant pinch.

Me: Are we done?

Cath: I have to get the barbel through.

She got the barbel through and that's it. I give her the 50 euros, and she said "No need to rush, let me tell you a couple of stuff."

After giving me a little bottle with a really clear liquid in it she said "Here, you will clean your piercing twice a day with this. It is clean water, absolutely clean. Also, buy a betadine cream and apply some on it once a day. Don't touch it a lot and don't play with it, everything I told you to do, do it after you have washed your face or hair." After that I thanked her and made my way out. She stopped me right out of the door and told me "Hey, write down **********, that's my mobile, just in case anything goes wrong or even if you need anything. If you want me to i can change your barbel any time. I said "thanks again, I'll come back soon heh."

After I went out, the two girls I was with looked rather surprised.

All they commented on for the next thirty minutes was how apathetic I was. I explained to them that it was not THAT bad, it was actually really good. No pain whatsoever, and told them that they should do it as well.

Now, four weeks later it has stopped getting the annoying crust around the barbel, and the healing is excellent so far. I don't feel any pain, and take good care of it, for at least two more weeks. The sea has been a really good helper on the healing procedure, so I suggest you do yours in summer.

For the first few days everyone seemed to think I'm in love with myself. Wherever I found a mirror, I'd just stay in front of it for at least five minutes. I have to admit, it was kind of difficult getting used to it, but now it seems like I can't live without it.

I also have a labret piercing, both lobes, a retired right lip piercing, and I'm hopefully getting a tongue piercing shortly.

I strongly recommend to use a Barbel and NOT a cbr. A circular barbel would get easily ripped, as it's a piercing that gets bashed a lot. Ouch.
