It all started a while ago, when me and my friend Meredith were talking about piercings on the phone. She was talking about how she really wanted her tongue done. I really wanted my eyebrow done, and she told me she thought it would look really awesome. From that point on the thought would never leave me. Every picture of myself I saw, all I could do was imagine how my eyebrow would look with a ring in it. I asked my mom a million times, but the answer was always the same. "Ewe, that looks disgusting." And she would then proceed to run away exasperated.

One other little hurdle I had to overcome, was the fact that I was terrified of needles, but eventually I faced that fear head on by piercing my ears myself (at 14 haha). And a couple of months later I pierced my tongue web myself with a safety pin, which I still have and turned out great (just a tiny bit crooked).

One day when me and my mom were both at my therapists office, I convinced him that it was really important to me, so he brought it up w/ her in the room, and after a few compromises, she finally started to see things my way (as it should be) and I got a maybe. Well that maybe finally turned into a hesitant yes.

So at that point I started searching BME looking for advice (nice web-site). I found everything I could possibly need to know. I started asking around about where I should get pierced, went to a couple of web-sites, and finally decided on Ocean Mystique, at the beach. I was excited, because not only would I be getting my eyebrow pierced, but I'd get to chill at the beach too.

I was getting pretty nervous by the time the day rolled around. I got my friend Jessica to come with me (she was the one I did all my other piercings w/). We went to Chik-fil-A and ate lunch, I read that that helps you (don't know why, but better safe than sorry). When we were done eating, me, my brother, my mom, my baby cousin, and Jessica were all off to the beach. That was about the time I started to seriously freak out, I didn't know what to expect since I had never had a professionally done piercing.

When we found the place and got inside, the guy got us to fill out the papers. He asked me if I wanted a barbel or ring, I told him I wanted a ring, because I heard they heal better. Me and Jessica started looking around the place, they had a lot of really nice shit. Then he got me to pick out the ball I wanted on my ring, I decided on a light blue one, then he gave me the after-care sheet. I still wasn't sure if I'd actually go through with it, I just kept thinking of the time when I was in third grade and chickened out of getting my ears done. I didn't want a repeat.

When he called me to the back after about a ten minute wait, I didn't think, I just went. The room was very clean like a doctors office. He cleaned my eyebrow with some brownish-orange stuff, and was just moving around the room taking stuff out of the packages. He came over with the clamps and clamped me, little did I know that he had the needle already out and ready to pierce. What I thought was him putting the clamps on was the actual piercing! I couldn't believe how little pain was involved. He put the ring in and that was it, it was all over. I felt stupid for freaking out over such a little bit of pain.

I went out and sat in the sitting area for people who had just gotten pierced. They told me to sit there for five minutes, but I felt fine, so I only waited for about three. I couldn't believe that after all this time I'd finally gotten it done. It looks great.

The after-care is pretty simple. I just use ear cleaning solution and bactine. And ANTIBACTERIAL SOAP!! Apparently this is very important. I don't use peroxide or alcohol because this breaks down the new tissue. I used some epson salt on it when it got sore, oh my god!! That shit hurts! But it feels better now. I'm not sure if that's a good idea, but it worked for me, so be fore-warned. I got it done about a week ago, and its just starting to get kind of crusty and stuff.

But all in all, it's a great piercing and I'm glad I didn't back down, and I'd do it all over again. If you have any questions about anything, my emails fallenkris10@aol.com, and my aim is dysfncshunlbarbi. Happy piercing!
