I suppose the reason I decided to get a piercing was really because I wanted a change. I had been wearing glasses for about three years now and had been waiting to get contacts for two of those years. I really hated being the guy with the glasses. Also I know a few people who had piercing done before including the eyebrow, nipple, tongue and foreskin, the last three on the same guy.
At A Glance Author Ryan Contact metal_kings_metallica@yahoo.com When It just happened Artist Claire Studio Metal Morphosis Location Dublin, Ireland I also decided that if I was serious about it I should look it up on the Internet to find out about it, how safe it was ETC. During my search I found BME and had a look around. I was first set on the tongue or labret but soon decided I would love a flesh coil like the one on here. I spend three or four weeks researching it, asking people about where they got theirs and about costs and aftercare. I also went with my friend when he got his ear done and asked about it.
On that day I found Metal Morphosis with the aid of a leaflet my friend got for me. It said they did pocketing and I asked about a flesh coil. They guy I spoke to, Shawn was really sound and seemed like a really nice guy. He said he'd have to get the right sized bar in and find a bit more out about it and to ring or call into the shop in about a week or so. So I did. I was told since it was a little unusual that I would have to book. So I did. I was booked in for after five on Wednesday.
I was really nervous leading up to the day. I finally had money since it had been my birthday on Monday. A friend and his girlfriend came in with me on the day. I dropped my guitar off to be fixed, somewhat wasting time I think due to nerves, went to McDonalds and had some food and finally went to the studio. It was quiet and I was told to wait while he sorted out the bar. After a few minutes he came out with it and asked where abouts I wanted it. I showed him and he held it up to my eyebrow, checking it before going away to fiddle with it some more. Another few minutes later and he returned saying the bar wasn't long enough, he had to get one in and that he'd call me when it was there. I was really pissed off to be honest, all the nerves for nothing. I left and decided to check out some other studios. I went around the corner to Body Shock and asked about it there. The guy said he wouldn't recommend it as it could grow out pretty easily. I talked to him for a while and deci ded that it might have been a bit much for a first piercing. I went to another shop to get a normal barbell put in but it was closed for renovations. I ended up going all the way back over town to Metal Morphosis again. I went in and told the woman I wanted a barbell in my eyebrow. I filled out the form, paid and waited. After a minute or two she called me in and I closed the door behind me, leaving my friend and his girlfriend outside.
She told me to lie down while she put on her gloves and checked everything. Then she asked where I wanted it and I showed her before she marked it and asked if it was ok. I wasn't sure as how it would look but trusted her placing. She explained about it maybe growing out and things before telling me to close my eyes. She put on the clamp, which wasn't bad at all. Then she told me to turn my head to the side and to breath in deep through my nose and out through my mouth. After a few breaths the needle went through and it was fine. Then the bar which was weird. It felt like the skin was tearing the whole way through but for some reason felt really cool as well, don't ask why. When it was all done I couldn't even feel it nearly. She then explained the after care and showed me how to clean it and if I had any problems I was to come straight back to her.
I went back to my friends and they really liked it. I was really, really happy with it. To be honest, i think I like it more then I would the flesh coil, for some reason it seems much cooler. But I was in a huge rush to get home since I had been in longer then I thought I'd be. I forgot to tell her how much I liked it so if by any chance she reads this, thanks a lot. I love it. Also I'm not sure if her name was Claire since I'm rubbish at names and couldn't really read her writing. But thanks a lot anyway.
Now all I have to do is look after it and make sure it doesn't get infected.
I would highly, highly, highly recommend an eyebrow piercing. So far this was the best week of my summer, what with contacts on Tuesday and eyebrow on Wednesday. And for guys, the eyebrow piercing works wonders. Two winks on the bus on the way home from town is definitely worth it.
