First of all, I'd like to correct that this procedure was done 4 years ago, and I don't encourage anyone to do this do it yourself process whatsoever. I got my first body modification (as most of us) soon after I was born; my aunts pierced my ear lobes with sewing needles and thread, which were replaced with studs later.

Either at craft markets or at jewelry stores with guns. But what interested me the most was a nanny from the Peruvian rainforest I had when I was 8 years old. She would pierce her ears with a sewing needle and thread as easy as eating a bar of chocolate. Then she would get little sticks of wood and cut some sort of "bars" and put them in her ears slowly. She wasn't heavily pierced; she just had her ears like that and kept stretching. Of course she didn't go to a 0 gauge or anything, but it amazed me, since I was living in a third world country and "out of the usual" body modifications were not seen everywhere just like that. Very few people had parts of their bodies pierced besides the ears.
When I was 14 (I am currently 18) I got my first facial piercing, a nostril and you can read that experience here. Some months after that, I wanted to get my eyebrow pierced and my mom wouldn't let me do it, since I was in a private school and the only piercings allowed were 2 per ear. Each day before school, I had to remove my nose stud and earrings. Because of personal reasons, I quit that school and transferred to an adult school, and still, my mom wouldn't agree with my piercing. I was a teenager and wanted to do what I wanted.
One day, I remembered about the nanny I had and how easy it was for her to pierce her ears. In one occasion she pierced my ears with a sewing needle, thread and a piece of cork, but she was not living with us anymore. So I went to get the same things she used but couldn't find the cork. I didn't care and without even thinking about it I went to get some paper towels, ice, cotton balls and rubbing alcohol. I sat in my room in front of the mirror and draw 2 dots in my eyebrow. Then I numbed my eyebrow with some ice, put the thread inside the needle and went on with the procedure. I was really nervous and scared that I might bleed to death or something like that, but I really wanted to get my eyebrow pierced. It was really hard and painful, since I had to push the needle in and it hurt my fingertips extremely, so I got the cap of a pen and pushed the needle with it. I felt a rush and it was like if I had hot and cold water inside of me collapsing together. Then I moved to the bathroom since the mirror was bigger and the light was brighter in there. I kept pushing and at some point I was about to quit, since it was late and I was getting tired of standing up in front of the mirror pushing the needle. But it was halfway there and I thought that if I removed the needle there would be some massive bleeding. I kept going until it was almost there, I got to see the pointy tip of the needle through the tissue but still, couldn't make it pass through; I would say that was the hardest part. I had started from the bottom hole so just kept pushing up and with the help of my fingertips I made it; it took me around 2 hours to get everything done. Then I tied a knot and went to bed.
The next day it was extremely sore and there were signs of some blood but not huge amounts. My mom shocked when she saw it, but didn't take it as I thought she would. I thought she was going to be extremely upset or that she would ask me to remove it, but thankfully she didn't. She said she wasn't happy with it all but that it was done and she hoped that I took good care of it. And I did, or at least tried to, with rubbing alcohol and some Neosporin I had left over from when I got my nostril pierced. A week after that, I wanted to put jewelry in but couldn't find "body jewelry" that easily, so just used a normal ring. It was hard to get it go through but I got to do it, and then again it was sore for a couple of days. There was some transparent liquid coming out of it most of the time and crusts. Also, it was painful whenever I touched near that zone, but I thought it was because it was a new piercing and it would probably take a while to heal.
I can't really say it didn't go bad because I retired it after some weeks, it was crooked. Of course what could I expect from my inexperience? I let it heal for some weeks and tried again, that time with a syringe needle and it didn't go that bad, but that's another story.
I enjoyed my eyebrow ring for the few weeks I had it, but I wasn't going to be happy until I had it. I don't recommend anyone any one to get his or her eyebrows done like I did. It's painful, risky and takes a lot of time to get done with it. At the end, I ended up with a crooked sort of infected eyebrow, tried to do it myself again and finally ended up going to a professional piercer to do it. I spent more money at the end and got myself some not so pretty scars due to all the poking I did. I don't have any eyebrow piercings now, they migrated. If you are considering in DIY eyebrow piercings, think about it. I know sometimes it's difficult to get modifications when one is under age, but one could end up badly hurt.
