I have wanted a standard eyebrow ring since I was around 11. I seen it and automatically wanted it. I went to ask for permission to get it done and got laughed at. When I said I was serious the answer was a definite no. I wasn't about to give up just because they said no once. I would give it a little while and then ask again or just bring it up into conversations, but my parents were still convinced it would go away if they kept refusing. Well time went by and my 15th birthday rolled around and i decided to try again to see if I could do it for my birthday. I went to my mom first and to my surprise she said she would try to convince my dad. The next day, my birthday, I got out of school and my mom picked me up. When i got into the car she told me he said it was okay and we could go the next day to get it done. So i went home and looked up everything I could and every story I could on eyebrow piercing. Then I went and grabbed a phone book, looked up all the piercing places a nd seen which one had the best prices. I had already heard good things about a studio called New Age Tattoos and Body Piercing. So I called them first, they happened to be having a special, any piercing, 20 dollars. So my mind was made up, that's where I was going.

My mom and my aunt picked me up and we were on our way. Being my 1st piercing, I was very nervous. When we got there my mom had to fill out the forms and she had to verify she was my mom. I couldn't really tell what the place was like from the waiting room. My piercer came out and introduced himself and told me everything and said it would be a few minutes. So i sat down and look at his portfolio but before I knew it i was getting called back. My mom didn't want to go back into the room with me so my aunt did. His name was Roger, he was all pierced up, he had two lip rings, two anti eyebrows and his ear lobes were stretched to 0 gauges but he was cool. He sat me down in a big dentist office-like chair and started to explain what was going to happen. He pulled out the sterile packages and put everything onto a metal tray, like a doctor would do. As he pulled the needle out and set it in some yellow-ish goo he started talking about his piercings so it would direct my attention to him and not what he was doing. Then he marked my eyebrow with a purple marker and asked if that's where I wanted it. It was a perfect marking so i said yes that's where I wanted it. He said the next part would be a little uncomfortable, it was the clamps. I had read they were the worst part but when he put them on, they weren't that bad. Then he put some of the same yellow-ish goo that the needle was setting in, on my eyebrow. Then was the scary part, he asked if I was ready, I said yes. He told me to take a deep breath and close my eyes and he stuck the needle through. I felt a small pinch and it was over. It didn't hurt at all really. I was ready to do it again. I looked in a mirror and loved it. He pulled his gloves off and gave me a care sheet and went over it with me. He also gave me the name of a sterile solution to pick up at Walgreen's called Blairex. After wards I thanked him and walked out into the waiting room to find my mom more nervous than I was before the piercing. She loved it too.
We left and went down to the nearest Walgreen's and picked up the Blairex. After that I wanted to go show it off so I went to a friends house and did exactly that. There was no soreness or anything until the next day. But that was partly because I was not used to it so I kept hitting it. But other than that, I could move it and everything, even though I wasn't supposed to. I couldn't help it though. A week later, no bruising, pussing or anything. The bottom hole scabbed a little but that's it. I recommend this piercing to everyone. And if you live in the Springfield area, New Age is the place to go.
