Well as with any of us modified people even I as a piercer get the itch for new metal (usually when I am excessively bored!), so I started thinking what can I do that I don't see a-lot of? Well anti-brows are far from common here in the peg lets try that.

Now if you have read my self piercing horror story you have read the wrong way to pierce yourself, here I am about to tell you one of two ways that you can pierce yourself properly. The second is being a member of a group/ tribe/ clan that has been doing mods for ever (like Africa, Amazon tribes, ect).

Here I begin by setting up my area at the shop as I would for any customer, I washed my hands with an anti-bacterial soap then slid on gloves, placed a dental drape on my mayo stand, got an autoclaved pair of clamps from my drawer and opened them and placed them on the drape, got an autoclaved package of impliments (toothpick, rubber band, 4x4, 9 q-tips, 2 med cups) opened it and placed them on the drape, then put simple saline in one med cup, and Betadine in the other, placed a dot of gentiane violet on the drape, and a dot of Xylocaine as well, I got 2 16 gauge needles from my clean drawers and 2 16 gauge 7/16 mini barbells from the draw as well placing them on the drape.

Here I removed my gloves, rewashed my hands (dam dust), and slid on new gloves. Now I began marking my placement which is alot harder when doing it to yourself but after many tries I thought I had it, here I wrapped my clamps with the rubber band for tension and placed them on my first brow area (here i double and triple check my placement because it is hard to see if it's perfect), now I take my needle placing some Xylocaine gel on it and slide the needle through (why is it that when piercing oneself that it takes a hundred times longer to fully pierce than when piercing a customer?).

Here I remove the clamps gently and inspect my job (okie dokie), now I slide the barbell through behind the needle and screw the bead on (#1 is done!). Now I complete the whole process all over again on the other brow (must have simetry).

(DAM DAM DAM!)

Well my placement wasn't perfect on the first brow and it is off by a fraction of a millimeter so I unfasten the barbell and remove it. Re-mark, re-clamp, re-pierce.

Ok on inspection they are now right on and I am happy but due to the first being wrong I remove my gloves and throw them in my dirty garbage and I procced to Nadine's tattoo room and have her inspect my handywork and she says they look great so off I go back to my room

Now I clean the area completely with simple saline and Q-tips till the slight bleeding stops.

Here I take the needles and place them in the bio-hazard container, remove the rubber band from the clamps placing the band on the drape, then head to the sterilization room to deposite my clamps in the ultrasonic and remove my gloves putting them in a dirty garbage. Back to the room and putting gloves back on I take the drape by each corner to create a bag to hold everything and place the bunch in my dirty garbage, then remove and also deposit my gloves in the dirty garbage. Now I spray everything down with my cleanser to let it sit for 10min.

DONE! (10 minutes later I come back and wipe everything down so that I am ready for the next customer).

Ok there is a reason that I follow all these steps even for piercing myself and the biggest being that my and your hands are disgusting.
(If you take a microscopic view of the human hand you will find cocaine, human feces and urine, animal feces and urine, then wash your hands with a good anti-bacterial soap and swab them you will still find all these things.) So even tho I am only piercing myself I still want to protect myself in all ways possible.

When doing a piercing in your bathroom or such with unsterile items (no boiling is not sufficient) and not wearing gloves, ect, ect, you are opening a huge door to infection.

Now a second question I get alot is-"Well my boyfriend did it at home and we share body fluids already so thats safe isn't it?"

No it isn't because his bacteria is unfamiliar to your body as is yours to his, that with everything I have already said just makes at home self piercing a very dangerous practice.

So please don't have the attitude of "It won't happen to me!" because it can and will. And saving 50-100 dollars or waiting till your 18 cause your parent's won't allow it isn't worth taking your life in your hands.

Be Safe
