I have always adored eyebrow piercing. So this summer I decided that if I waited any longer I'd go crazy. So I talked it over with my dad whom easily agreed. He was pretty familiar with me liking body modification because I had gotten my ears pierced at Body Piercing Unlimited and I always go to bme and read experiences/ look at pictures. So that weekend we went to Rae's, which was not exactly a body-piercing studio but they pierce and sterilize everything. Well it was not the best place to go for a piercing, the lady who pierced me pierced with a straight barbell (which can lead to migration more quickly) and had to pierce me twice because she dropped the barbell. I don't think the lady was very experienced, even though she had been piercing there for six years. She made my friend hold the clamp instead of her holding it herself. 3 months later it grew out, so for my birthday we went to Body Piercing Unlimited. I would have gone there before but they would not pierce yo u if you were under 15,even if you had a parent to sign for you, and I was only 14.
At A Glance Author Rose Contact citrus_shock@hotmail.com When It just happened Artist Jason Studio Body Piercing Unlimited Location Anchorage, Alaska I have been to Body Piercing Unlimited before to get my ears and cartilage done (u can get ears done only if u are under 15 and have a parent) and they are very professional, everything is doctor-office clean, and they know exactly what they are doing. When we got there, Jason greeted us and asked what I wanted done. I told him my right eyebrow and picked out my jewelry. I was so happy that I was finally getting it re-pierced at a good studio. They had the regular silver ones bars, and blue titanium barbells. The blue ones were more expensive, so I picked the silver because it matched the jewelry in my ears. We filled out the paperwork, he copied our id's and then I paid him. We had to wait a little bit but not very long. Soon my best friend showed up, and then Jason called me back into one of the two piercing rooms.
First he cleaned my eyebrow with something that made it kind of cold. It was some kind of clear jelly substance. Then he marked my eyebrow, and I looked at the placement. I thought the holes were a little close together, and I asked him to make them farther apart but he said if that they were any farther apart it would be too deep, so I said it was fine. Afterwards he measured the 2 holes with some kind of special tool. Then I had to lie down on a cushioned table that was pretty high up above the ground and he clamped my eyebrow (I was already used to this whole ordeal so I just went with it). He told me to inhale, and when I exhaled he would pierce me. I was so surprised because I barely felt a thing, and he was piercing through scar tissue. The last time when I had my eyebrow pierced it hurt pretty bad, and it was pretty sore for the day after, but this time is felt fine!
Then he slipped the needle out and put the jewelry in, which also surprisingly barley hurt. Afterwards it felt fine. It did not burn or anything. He explained the aftercare to me: 1 teaspoon of sea salt with 8 ounces of warm water, twice a day for 15 minutes. Last time at Rae's the lady told me to use just dial soap twice a day, but Jason said that using dial soap would be to harsh on the skin. He also told me not to get any body fluids on it and not to clean it with alcohol or any other cleaner except the sea salt. I would have tipped Jason because he did such a great job but I ran out of money.
Well its nine hours later and my eyebrow is doing fine. I really like the way it looks, and the placement is perfect. I can't wait to get new barbells and change it to them but I'm going to wait 2 ½ months just to be sure everything is healed. People will always be looking at your eyes more. If you want an eyebrow piercing, research it, find out as much as you can about the studio you are going to go too, and wait a while so you know you really want it. I waited 2 years, and finally I decided that it was for me. If you are in the Anchorage Area I would recommend Jason at Body Piercing Unlimited to anyone. He is very friendly, professional, and gives you lots of information about the piercing. Well thanks for reading my experience. Happy Piercing!
