At A Glance Author Jamie* When A week ago Artist Brodie Gallant Studio Custom Creations Location Charlottetown For the very first time I seen Daniel Johns ( The Singer from Silverchair ) with his Eyebrow piercing I fell in love with it and I knew I had to have it. I had wanted it for about 4 years before I actually got it. I begged my parents to let me get it done but they just wouldn't give in because my father insisted that nice girls don't have piercings and I was only going through a "phase", only freaks and skanks do. I thought the total opposite tho, I love piercings so much and I cant wait till I get my next one. Im thinking on getting my lip done in a little while. Anyways on with the story, Around my 15th birthday last year I asked if I could get it done once more and my dad said that If I could wait until my 16th birthday then he would pay for it. I was all for it but thought it was a little mean to tell me so far ahead.
A year later about a week before my 16th birthday my mom and dad took me into town to get it done, I wasn't nervous about it until that night, I tossed and turned and finally got to sleep at 7 in the morning and I had to get up at 10. Not a very good deal eh ? Oh well It was deffinatly worth it. I was so scared because a month before I had been having nightmares about getting it pierced and something would always go wrong like It would get ripped out or the piercer would miss my eyebrow and stab me in the eye. They were really messed up.
The day of my piercing we drove about 45 minutes into town to have it done at a very well known piercing/tattoo studio, they were known for their good and clean work. We all walked in. I was pretty shaky . It was sort of a messed up family deal thing. The studio smelt very clean and it sort of had a bleech smell, not a bad smell, but not a good one either but it smelt clean which I thought was a start. I told a guy named Jeff at the front counter that I wanted to have my eyebrow pierced and he told me that I'd have to wait half an hour because his piercer was out. After I asked all the questions I needed to ask we all left and went to wal-mart so I could get my friend a birthday present she had wanted because her birthday was two days after mine.
Half an hour was up and we got in the truck and headed down to get my eyebrow done. I was getting really nervous by then and my dad almost didn't let me because of the look on my face. Keep in mind I haven't had anything pierced before except for my earlobes and one cartlidge . I wasn't sure what to expect. My parents and I walked into the place, looked at the walls for about a minute ( it seemed like an hour ) and then Jeff came out from a backroom and asked me to sign some papers, he also gave me a sheet that had instructions how to care for it and told me I could pick out either a barbell or the CBR, I chose the CBR because a friend of mine got his eyebrow done with a barbell and the ball part fell off and then it grew over. I didn't want that to happen so I was on the safe side. I told Jeff that I only wanted a tiny ring so he made sure it was 16 gauge and very tiny. He collected my 40 dollars and told me I could go back and see Brodie the piercer
I walked down a hall and into a room where Brodie was always getting his things ready to pierce me. He sat me down, explained to me what he was going to do, made sure I was completely ok with the whole procedure and when I asked him how much it would hurt he told me It wouldn't hurt anymore then my cartlidge did and that didn't hurt at all. He cleaned my eyebrow off, marked it and made sure I liked it and then clamped it. When I was least expecting it he stuck the needle through, and low and behold no pain. He then slipped the CBR in and cleaned it one more time. I thought it looked great :D. He gave me a sucker too which was very nice of him. He was very friendly and I would highly recommend him to everyone.
He then gave me another sheet and told me how to take care of it the proper way. A week before I got the piercing I had writen him an email and asked him a few questions and he had remembered the email which I thought was cool.
Anyone wanting their eyebrow done should deffinatly go and do it because it doesn't hurt at all and its very cool looking when its all done. I've had mine for about two weeks now and it doesn't get crusty very often and it only gets sore when I sleep on the side that its on. Its a piercing you have to be careful about though because it can easily reject or get torn out. Im excited about putting a barbell in it soon. I also hope to have it for a long time and if it rejects or something happens to it I'll be getting it redone. I love it so much :)
