Hello Everyone!

My name is Heather Mc Namara and on the ninth of July 02, I got my eyebrow pierced. I got the idea to have my eyebrow pierced when I saw others with it done. I researched alot on the piercing, aftercare, and all that "fun" stuff! When I knew enough about the piercing, I decided to ask my mam could I get it done (I am only 13). She was like 'yeah, that would be cool'! I was so excited! My birthday was coming up so I decided to get it done then.

I decided to go to bizzare-bizaar for the piercing as it is the only place in our town and I had seen my friends piercing being done there. I went down there with my mam on the Tuesday of my birthday.

I told the guy behind the counter that I wanted my eyebrow pierced. Then he said that they would not pierce a thirteen year old! Then he started blabbing on about all the risks, I told him I knew all the risks (which I did) and that I was willing to take the chance, He just said "sorry". I was so annoyed and upset, and then my mam said that she would drive me to Limerick (a city about an hour's drive from our town). I was soo happy! The only problem was I did not know any thing about the places in Limerick. However, as soon as we got to Destiny I knew I made the right decision.

We went to Destiny body piercing in Limerick City, Ireland. When we got there the place was great, very clean, staff very friendly, it was cool. I told the woman behind the counter that I wanted my eyebrow pierced. She told me that I would have to pay for the piercing there, but get it done in another shop across the street. I would also have to wait an hour because they were very busy that day. She asked me had I eaten in the last couple of hours, I said yes, but she said go get something sugary to eat any way, I got a coke and a mars bar (to keep my sugar levels up). After the hour slowly ticked by, I made my way back to the other shop. I then had to wait another fifteen minutes, as there was a girl ahead of me getting her tongue pierced. I then had to fill in a couple of forms and my mam had to sign her name at the bottom. Then I just browsed around the shop while I waited. After what seemed like an eternity, I was led up a winding stairs (a winding stairs is not good aft er a piercing!). Anyway, at the top of the stairs there were three separate piercing rooms (I liked that alot). I entered one of the small piercing rooms. Tony, my piercer, began explaining the procedure, showed me his latex gloves, needle in sealed package, he also showed me the expiry date on the needles package. Then he showed me the clamps and told me what he would use them for.

Tony then wiped my eyebrow with some sort of disinfectant and placed the clamps on my eyebrow.

Some people say that this is the worst part! It just feels like if you pull out the skin of your eyebrow.

I was getting very nervous then. I was thinking if he does not do this soon I am running! Then I felt a quick sharp pain in my eyebrow. I was done! I was just about to stand up when I felt something warm running down along my face, you can probably guess what it was! I sat back down and Tony gave me a type of padding they use in hospitals to put on my eyebrow. I stayed that way for twenty minutes!

I was getting pretty impatient after about fifteen minutes I was dying to get out of there and show all my friends my beautiful new piercing! After the blood clotted I quickly stood up and felt very dizzy and sick, I felt as though I was going to pass out as I went down those horrible winding stairs! Tony offered me a cup of tea or coffee, but I refused because as I said I was dying to get out of there! After about 5 minutes, I felt fine. Then I had to sign this thing to say that I had seen Tony use needles out of sealed packages, blah.

After two months my piercing still looks the same way it did the day I got it pierce! I never ever had any problems with it; I never even got crusties! If you are thinking about getting your eyebrow pierced, just do it! It hurts, but its hardly gonna be painless right? Go for it, the pain is seriously nothing! I will be going back to destiny for a navel piercing in a couple of weeks I will be sure to post my experience!

Good Luck,

Heather
