It was the day before my birthday, two years ago, and I decided I wanted to have some sort of piercing done. I looked around at a few studios that seemed pretty good, but I finally settled on the piercer I had heard had a decent reputation.

Honestly I was very nervous about doing this considering I had never
been to this piercer before. But I put trust in my friends, and took
there advice to visit the studio. I thought that there was no way my
friends would let me down. So I took a deep breath and made the phone
call.
My appointment was set for that day at 3. So my friends and I drove to Cornwall. I was very shaky on the ride over, well more excited than anything. In my group of guys I was the only one unpierced, so I was the experiment of the day, as they drove me to the studio. I always said I would try anything at least once.
As we walked through the doors of the studio, I felt a lump in my throat start to swell. I was even more nervous than before because I was in the studio I knew absolutely nothing about. But I put my faith in my friends opinions, so I proceeded ahead. I sat in the chair awaiting my turn. I was next up.
I walked over to where the piercer was standing and sat in the chair
beside her. I was gripping the sides of the chair, so hard my knuckles were turning white. The piercer could tell I was nervous. I sat there awaiting the needle. I told her what I wanted done and she said "ok", that is it, she did not even say another word...which made me very uncomfortable.
She proceeded to wipe off my eyebrow with an alcohol pad. Took the
needle out of the package and then the clamp. The piercer walked over to me and clamped my eyebrow...then quickly shoved the needle through my skin making me jump. Me not being experienced I knew just from the
amount of blood pouring out of my eyebrow that the needle was in to far. It made me cringe... I opened up my eyes, needle staring at me.
She pulled the needle out..put the ring in and wiped off a little bit of blood and said "that's it your done". So I got up and paid her and
walked out the door very unsatisfied.
I looked at my friends at that point and was very disappointed. They
knew I was upset so they didn't really say anything to me. I just sat
there in the car on the way back without saying a word. I couldn't
believe I paid for this to be done.
At this point my eyebrow was huge. I have never seen an eyebrow swell
up that much after piercing. Mine was definitely in to far. I reached
up to touch it and all I could feel was a little piece of the ring and the ball. I figured maybe after the swelling went down you would be able to see more of the ring.
Three weeks went by, swelling still hasn't gone down. I was getting
very perturbed. The swelling went down within the week. But still all
you could see was the ball and little piece of the ring. I tried to move the ring around. It wasn't working; it hurt so bad just to move my ring back and forth. I then got it to move a little bit. It felt so bad when I did that, it felt as if someone was pulling it out of my skin. I left it in though just thinking it would start looking and feeling better.
I left it in for like 4 months after that. No sign of it even beginning to look or feel better. So I decided to go to my best friends step dad house, which he is a licensed piercer but does not have a studio. He told me it looked terrible and why hadn't I came before this. I said I was going leave it in to see if it gets better in time. Then he looked at me and said "it's not going to get any better she messed it up completely."
He wanted to take it out so I let him. Normally the ball just pops off, mine didn't even budge. He had to get his clamps and grab a hold of each side of the ring and pry it open so he could get the ball off. He got the ball off then had to put lubrication on the ring so he could slide the ring out of my skin. It was a painful situation and I had to bite down and take it.
I'm going to have guts and get my other eyebrow done now. But this time I plan to go to a piercer I'm comfortable with and knows what he or she is doing. I am still looking for that perfect studio; I was actually satisfied with the piercer that pierced my tongue, so I think I'm going back there.
