Well, I decided to get my eyebrow done. I already had 16 piercings (tongue, navel, nose, many in both ears), so needless to say I am highly addicted. It took some time to decide WHAT I wanted pierced, because I am having my tonsils removed, so mouth piercings were out of the question. My ears are already so full, and I have no real desire for genital/nipple piercings. So the only logical piercing for me at this time seemed to be the eyebrow. I had always thought my face would not look very good with the eyebrow done, but I decided on it because I knew I could take it out if it did not look good on me.

We decided to go eat first, so that none of us would get sick, which is ALWAYS the smart thing to do before any tattoo or piercing. I was nervous, as usual, regardless of how many piercings you get, nerves almost always surface. Well, my friend got her navel done, and then she ended up passing out afterwards, and of course, it was now my turn. So after seeing her pass out I was even more nervous. One thing to understand, is that I get dizzy spells due to health problems, and especially when getting pierced, or tattooed. So I knew that was coming.
So my piercer prepared everything for me, I got a very simple, silver 16ga barbell. He went through all of the normal things, taking out a fresh needle, cleaning everything, taking as long as possible so that I could become even more nervous than I already was, the usual. I remember asking him if he ever got nervous when he was about to be pierced, because he had many facial piercings and what not, he told me yes, almost everytime, which kind of put me at ease for some reason. Anyhow, the next thing he did was clamped my eyebrow, which for me, during the process, I generally do not feel it because I am thinking about what's to come. The needle. Well, as usual the pain was VERY minimal. He pierced me, and it barely hurt at all. I was happy it was almost over... or so I thought.
We had a slight problem, when he tried to follow the barbell through, it did not go, and the next thing I hear is 'uh oh'. NEVER a good thing to hear from someone who has just stuck a needle through your skin. I ended up having a bit of blood running down my face, and then a HUGE dizzy spell, (loss of eye sight, hearing, dizzy, sick, etc.) After a few minutes I felt better, so he put the needle back through. Once again, follow through did not happen properly. At this point, I am not only annoyed, but I am feeling sick. I had originally wanted the 14ga but he said they use 16 because it causes less swelling and what not, but by this time he said if I still wanted the 14, it was fine, because after two tries and no luck, I was going to have a lot of swelling more than likely. So he tried again, this time with 14ga, two more dizzy spells later it went in with no problem. WHEW.
He ended up giving me the 16ga barbell for free because of my troubles, which was nice. Do not get me wrong, this guy has been piercing for many many years, I think I was just one of those unlucky few with a troubled eyebrow. I will go back to that studio for ALL of my future piercings and tattoos, no question about it. My friend who was going to get his nipples pierced ended up not doing it for some reason, he ended up doing it at a later time.
So finally it was time to go home, and I'll be honest, it was a bit annoying, but really not painful, even after doing it three times, it only swelled for maybe 3 or 4 days and it was fairly minimal considering. Now it has been about a month, and it has the normal crusties, but its seldom tender or painful, and it looks really good to me. More than likely I will either do the other eyebrow, or possibly a second one in the same eyebrow, after I see how well this one heals. If you want your eyebrow done, I say go for it, worst that could happen is it does not look right, or it does not heal well, and you have to take it out. Thanks for reading my story, happy piercing. Tata.
