Hello everybody! Well I recently just got my eyebrow pierced on June 1st 2002. Officially I didn't turn 18 until June 2nd 2002, but I went on June 1st at midnight to get it done.I have been wanting this eyebrow piercing for a long time, but my mother told me I had to wait until I turned eighteen. I was hesitant at first because I wasn't real sure if they would do it or not so I called a few places and retrieved the different prices for an eyebrow piercing with a barbell. Some friends of mine were telling me about this place called Body Rites of Austin. The man that answered the phone said that coming at midnight would be fine and it would be 55 dollars.

So June 1st finally came. I was so anxious and midnight seemed so far away. I am sitting at home and it's only one in the afternoon. So I called up a few friends and we decided to go check out that movie with J. Lo "Enough". The movie didn't start until almost 8 so I had at least 6 or 7 hours to kill. Luckily my step-dad rented the movie How High so we watched that. Before you know it I am at the movies. The movie was pretty good to me. Now it's only 10 and I still have 2 more hours. So we decided to go bowling. It was only three of us and dare I say....I got 3rd place! Finally we left the bowling alley and made our way down to where Body of Rites was located. As I walked through the door I ask for the time and it was 11:57. I go up to the counter and showed the man (chris kane) my I.D. He looked at his watch and gave me that right on time look. There was only one sheet of paper to be filled out and he did most of it for me. All I had to do was write down my address and read over it carefully and sign it. After doing that he told me that I had about a 20 minute wait.

While I was sitting there in the waitin room that's when the nerves settled in. My two friends told me to relax, but they have never been pierced before. It's easier said then done. That's when I heard Liz (that lady that was going to pierce me) call my name. I got up slowly and entered the room she told me to go into. This room was very white. There stood the ever so popular dentist-like chair. She brung out her tools and she washed her hands before she got started. Meanwhile she is telling me the whole procedure and the after care. She told me not to be scared, but of course I was. She also gave me some breathing techniques that I could do now to help me relax and I would also use them while she was piercing my eyebrow. She marked where it would be ( I choose the left side because I sometimes have my hair over my right eye) and she had me get up and take a look at it. I looked and gave her the okay. She had me lay flat on my back with my head resting on the head rest of th e dentist-like chair. This is where my breathing techniques came in handy. She didn't use any clamps. She told me that when she counted to three I would feel the needle at my eyebrow, but it wouldn't be insterted yet, but on five she would insert it. One......two....three......four.....five.....and she told me okay that's it. I opened my eyes and asked her if she was sure.

All she had to do was put the barbell in and that would be it. I did feel a pinch or two when she put it in, but it was harmless! She told me to get up slowly and look at it in the mirror. I totally adored it! The type of barbell used was a 16" gauge. Once I was up she again went over the after care procedure and presented me with Provon to clean it with. She said two times a day. I did not bleed at all. The next day (june 2nd) I didn't experience any swelling or redness. Today is June 4th and now I see all the little crusties, but with a clean it's looking good. If you are out there thinking about getting your eyebrow pierced, GO FOR IT! It is harmless and I blieve it brings out your face. I have been getting nothing, but complements. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please feel free to email me! Thanks for taking time out to read my experience! GODD LUCK!
