Did that hurt? an anti-eyebrow experience

Well, a few months ago I woke up and decided that I was going to get pierced yet again. At the time I had my both nipples, labret, ears, hafada, tongue, two napes and a fairly large septum. Although my septum was my favorite body mod at the time, it looked out of place. I decided that I needed to get something that would bring the area around my eyes into the picture and help frame out my face. I was thinking about both eyebrows pierced (I'm a Computer Science major, everything has to be symmetric) but I didn't think it would be enough. Then while I was hunting around BME (as you are right now), I found something called ANTI-eyebrows. Oh suky-suky-now!
It started out as a great day out on Long Island spending my spring break at my girlfriend's college. I had just left my house in Northern New Jersey the night before and was ready for a break from the craziness that is only 20 minutes away from at least 4 major shopping malls. Well, she had heard of a piercing/tattoo shop that wasn't that far away, and thought that we would try there. My girlfriend, her friend from school (she was going to get her tongue pierced, her first mod), and I took a drive to all get something pierced. When we arrived at the shop, I wasn't extremely happy because I had heard other people's opinions about getting pierced in a shop that was mainly for tattoos, although I did give this establishment a chance.
We entered and I was getting a negative feeling from the start. A sales woman came out and asked us if she could help. My girlfriend asked about getting a vertical labret (She wrote an experience called, "FINALLY! a vertical labret story") and if I could get anti-eyebrows. She was obviously a little confused about what exactly we were talking about, so she headed back into a storeroom of some sort and the owner popped out. After a little chat with him about exactly what we would like to get pierced, he informed us that it couldn't be done.
Now being on the Quest for the Holy Grail apparently (Ni!), my girlfriend decided to head to a piercing shop by my house (Which is over 2 hours away at this point). Being a logical thinker, I started to argue the logic of this trip. I had just left that area no more than 12 hours earlier and really didn't want to head all the way back. Although, being the man in the relationship, I realized that there are only so many battles that I will win, and why waste one on this. So off we went to Pleasurable Piercing in Hawthorne, New Jersey.
We arrived and entered the shop, and experienced the typical before piercing jitters. I had just been to the shop about a week earlier, to get dual napes so the employees and the piercer (Bill) remembered me from that. The three of us entered the room and watched each other get pierced. There are some piercings that I would not want anyone to watch me get, but it was fun to watch everyone get pierced. Then it was my turn.
I decided that I was going to get them horizontally along with my eyes. Because they are curved barbells, and do have a good chance of migration I decided that I would have them sitting in the bottom of my eye socket, right above my cheekbone.
I can truly say that my AE's were two of my least painful piercings to get. Bill clamped my right side and needle and jewelry went in fine. The clamp felt like someone was squeezing my cheeks. The whole process went about the same on the left although, either I had more blood veins on that side or the piercing went deeper. I bled, and boy did I bleed, although it still did not hurt.
During the healing process, I discovered that if you sleep on your piercing, they will not like you in the morning. The nights where I had found sleeping marks on my face around the piercing, I would see extra amounts of crusties to clean. I had to teach myself to sleep in a position that did not force fully put weight on the piercing against any surface.
It is a few months later now and they are about healed if not healed already. I love them, I think they are some of the coolest piercings that I have. They are totally full of personality, and express a lot about the person that has them. There is one thing that I don't like about them though. The annoying question, "Do they hurt?"
