Since the age of 11 or 12 I'd wanted my brow pierced, I used to sketch pictures of eyes and include the bar as a part of a picture to me this piercing was a must have; it screamed individuality, it looked fantastic and dare I say, sexy? This piercing was just brilliant and I loved the thought of having one for myself. I already had 7 regular ear piercings, the standard single lobe piercing and the rest cartilage; I felt I was now ready for something slightly more visible.

This is a place I'd been many, many times before to admire the tattoos and body jewellery.
It was a 30 minute drive to the studio and all the way there I was shaking with nerves, I couldn't believe that I was actually going to do this. As we pulled closer to the studio I started to have some doubts I'd not made an appointment, I might not get the piercing, something might go wrong, what if I chicken out.
We finally got to the studio and I walked inside, it's a tiny studio and both the artists were busy tattooing people, but Mike (the guy who performed the piercing) told me to take a seat and he'd be with me in a few minutes.
After about 10 minutes I was on a real high and just wanted to get the piercing and get out, and then Mike stepped into the waiting room and asked me to go through to the studio. I sat down in the chair and explained that I wanted my right brow pierced and then showed him where about and at roughly what angle, he agreed that it would be fine and started to prep me for the piercing. He showed me the hoop that would be used, and explained how the piercing would be done; by now I was on an enormous high and felt like I was going to pass out.
As he prepped my eyebrow I stared at a point on the wall, I felt him attach the clamp and he told me he'd leave it in place for a minute or two. A few minutes later I heard him tell me to close my eye and so I relaxed, laid back and did as I was told; I didn't feel any pain, just the point of the needle resting on the skin and then some slight pressure as it passed through my brow and broke out the other side. "OK, all done just have to put the ring in now" he said to me, I smiled as I couldn't believe it was so painless and there was no blood at all.
It didn't seem to take him any time at all the put in the ring and attach the bead and when it was all done he gave me a hand mirror so I could take a look at my new piercing whilst he explained the aftercare instructions to me and gave me a card with the follow up instructions printed on it.
As I was sat in the chair listening to him I felt the blood rush out of my face, I become light headed and felt like I was going to faint, I didn't know what to do as I felt so embarrassed and must have turned as white as a sheet, so I got up, paid my money and walked back to the waiting area where my brother was browsing the tattoo catalogues.
I had seated myself in the corner to try and regain my composure whilst waiting for my brother, after a minute Mike approached me and asked if I was feeling OK somewhat embarrassed by my obvious lack of composure I said No. Mike gave me a hand and practically carried me to the back of the studio and sat me back down in the chair; he produced a small bottle of smelling salts and told me to breathe deeply, laid the chair back, lifted my feet up and gave me a can of Cola to drink.
Needless to say I was enormously embarrassed at the experience, but Mike was great and just told me to relax and stay where I was until I felt better. It took nearly 15 minutes for me to regain my composure and after making sure I'd finished my drink he let me leave.
It only took a few months for the piercing to fully heal and I've not had any major problems with it. Next month I'm going back to Colour Me Custom to get my first tattoo, and I'm also considering getting a second eyebrow bar at the same time; hopefully I won't make a fool out of myself again. ςΏς
For anyone out there who may be thinking about getting their brow pierced, there really is nothing to worry about as it's totally pain free!
