Let me start out by saying...im a complete ass. I am so afraid of needles, you know when the doctor says "A shot or medicine" I always took the medicine. I've always wanted my eyebrow pierced but I was scared that I would be sitting in the chair and the piercer would sneeze just as the needle was going through, or that I would squint (in pain) and the placement would be completly off...I was scared. It took me 2 1/2 years to finally convince my parents but it also took me a little while to convince myself.

Body Designs actually trains their piercers at a school, which is surprising since theres no law and anyone can shove metal through you. Scared as hell, I went to the studio, and as soon as I walked in noticed the uncluttered space and the cool ass tattoos on the wall. In the desk infront of me were rings, barbells and...fangs. Yes...fangs. While Cass (my friend who held my hand during the procedure, I suggest you get a Cassie too) was lookin' at the fangs I told the chic who worked there that I wanted my eyebrow pierced. Well, they needed photo I.D. from both me AND my mom (how annoying!) and I had none. So, home we went to get my passport.
A million years later (thats what it seemed like, I was so anxious to finally do it) I was back at the place and she came to the front and asked me to pick a ring. I decided on 20 since my mom couldn't handle much bigger and she defenetly wouldnt let me get a barbell. (I wanted a barbell.)I went into a small room they used for piercing and sat on a lawn chair, lol. She sat next to me and Cass squatted in he corner (it really was a tiny room.) I was crapping my pants (now get this) till she took out the needle! It was tiny! Like a sewing needle...I was still a little uneasy but atleast they wernt shoving a rusty nail through me! She asked me to pick the color ring I wanted (purple) and if I wanted a ball or spiral...I asked for her opinion, of what she thought looked better, and since she the found the ball kinda big, I chose the spiral. She cleaned up the skin around my eye a little with some stuff, and from there on I closed my eyes. On came the clamp. It didnt hurt...put your fingers around your eyebrow, now squeeze as hard as you can. Guess what, it doesnt hurt that bad! Next she said take a deep breathe...I did and poke...she said, ok Im done. I opened my eyes and my sister and Cass were like "KICK ASS! You have a needle sticking out of your eyebrow!" (I couldnt see it) Pretty neat, hehe. Anywho, when she put the ring through, it was so quick I didnt notice, and she said "Done."...Done? Thats supposed to hurt?...Well, I looked in the mirror. Woah, it was cool! It didnt hurt. At all. I mean, it wasnt exactly fun, but. What am I saying! It was close to the funnest thing Ive ever done in my entire life! Well, I stood up no prob, I wasnt dizzy, nothing at all was wrong. It wasnt throbbing...I couldnt even feel it. I was soooo happy. I asked why it didnt hurt and she explained that it all depends on the piercer. If he or she doesnt know what thier doing, or the needle isnt sharp enough, its gonna hurt. I paid ($35) pretty good if you ask me.My mom and sister looked at tattoos for a little longer, and then we left.
As I was leaving and felt the cold air on it, it was a strange sensation. I bought that bendadine...betadine...benodine, I dunno, something red, and was off to a sweet 16. I moshed (oops, not supposed to do that right away but nothing happened thank god). It didnt hurt throughout the whole party and when I went home I decided it was time to clean it.
This kinda hurt :( I had to soak the area with a warm washcloth for a few minuites to get rid of crusties, then I put the red stuff on the ring, and rotated the ring into the hole. My piercing is pretty deep so that was kinda painful.I left it in there for 5 minuites, then washed it out and put the ring back in place. Thereafter I came online and wrote this story on BME. Yeah...so here I sit, unable to smile because since I touched it before its kinda tender.
To all of you out there who dont know if there ready to to it, DO IT! Its awesome, beautiful and it doesn't hurt... :) Good Luck!
