But I'm a good kid! |
| ||||||||||||||||
Since I was 12 I wanted this done.When I saw my friend's sister got it,I immediately was ready to do it.I begged my mom to let me.She firmly said NO.I gave it up for a little bit,I realized 6th grade was too young for a piercing.haha.7th grade,my friends Lindsay and Marretta got their's pierced.Lindsay said where she got it done wasn't too clean.She was right,later that year it got super infected.Marretta got her's done @ Gator Rick's.She said it was soo clean.So I begged more to my mom.She said she'll think about it.But she didn't.As 8th grade came ALOT of people had piercings. Marretta got her navel,so did Lindsay,Mandy,Kristi,and Kathy did too.My mom said get your navel done.Because it's usually hidden.
But I didn;t want that done!So i begged for the eyebrow.I used pushers like "I GET GOOD GRADES" "I'M A GOOD KID."I did get good grades,I was a good kid.I wasn't a dork either.I'm popular and the piercing doesn;t exactly go with the clothes I wear.It makes people question me,is she normal or is that piercing rebellion?It's not,piercings are in style and i love them.That's why I have one.The summer after 8th grade she gave me the ok to do it!I was pumped!She took me,I freaked in the chair and had to leave.2hours later i was ready again.We went to Gator Rick's,I freaked.I went home until I was really ready.
I wasn't ready until September of my freshman year of highschool.Back to Gator Rick's.He was soooo nice and explained and answered so many questions.The only thing i didn;t like about him was that he had a live baby alligator in a tank!But I sat in the chair and closed my eyes as he prepared.He took the needle out of the OCULATOR.This is a like a dishwasher for the jewlery.It sterilizes completely.I closed my eyes as he put the clamp on.That probablt hurt the worst out of the whole process.I felt a tiny pinch as he put the needle through.I kind of felt a llittle pull as the balls were getting tightened.The best relief was still having my eye.haha.I picture myself having a spasm as he pieced my.But nope,not all i didn;t even spuint or cringe.In the end did it Hurt?NOT AT ALL!My mother damn near passed out though.Later my friend Michelle told me he story at her point of view as watching it,she said she watched as the needle and the barbell were put in.After the piercing was complete,she said I didn't realize it has been done.I guess it's beacuse it hardly hurt.This is coming from a girl w/ low pain tolerance.
People say that getting it pierced with a hoop is easier to heal and barbells are more likely to cause infection.Not true.My barbell causes no infections.But make sure you get a stainless steel barbell or ring.Not gold at first,it causes infections.I reccomend the barbell because it's so much easier to clean and turn too.The healing went smoothly.I clean it twice a day.In the morning and at night.Turning also helps to keep the piercing where it should be,so it doesn;t attach to your skin or doesn't migrate.One good tip,make sure your hands are clean when you turn it.Anit-bacterial hand gel works if you are not close to a sink.Don;t change for at least 6-8 weeks.I changed mine on the 8th week.Everything went good with changing it.I got it pierced with a 16 gauge barbell but I wanted it to be smaller so this time i got an 18 gauge.But I don;t regert getting the 16 gauge.It;s bigger so it could heal better and more complete.It gives the skin room to heal and once again cleaning is easier.I also reccomend going back to the piercer to buy jewlery for the first time you change it,he/she will probably change it for you for free.Ask questions about changing it so you could do it yourself next time.Eyebrow piercings are probably one of the easiest to take care of.Don;t be afraid,it's almost painless.The piercing and healing are painless.So DO IT!You won't regret it.Piercing will add something to everyone's style and personality.Good luck to whoever's getting their eyebrow pierced.I hope my story will ease your fears or get you even more excited.E-mail me with questions if ya want. luckiestarz@hotmail.com
