Finally it happened |

I had wanted to get my eyebrow pierced for about 3 years before I had actually gotten it done. My mom wasn't really against the whole idea of it, she figured that it was my body, so what the hell right? My dad on the other hand was completely against it. He thinks all piercings, besides your ears is disgusting. But thank the lord my parents are divorced, and I live with my mom.Anyways, I was only 15 when I had gotten it done. My friends had also wanted to get their eyebrows pierced, but none of their parents would let them get it done. So, well you know, I was kind of happy that I would be the only one getting it done, so that they would be just a tad bit jelous :).
My mom was getting it done for me for my valentines day present (what a loving gift!). It was a couple of days after valentines day when I had gotten it done. I had to get it done after I finished the rest of my community service (don't ask).
After a while of reading other experiences on BME, (god bless them) I felt like this really was the piercing for me.
Ok, enough with this BS. I finally finished my shiznit, and was able to go and get it done. At first the piercer was a little hesitant to pierce me, because I was only 15, even though I was with my mother. He gave us a little smart ass sarcastic look, and then said that he would do it. He took my mom's drivers liscense, copied it, had us fill out some papers, and then everything was all ready to go. He had me go into the room, and had me lay down on a table, which helped me to relax. My mom, for some odd unknown reason, decided to stand at the other end of the room. He marked my eyebrow and had me ok it. I was so excited/nervous that I agreed to it, even though I didn't really take a good look at it. He brought out all the sterilized equipment. Then he put a clamp on my eyebrow,it wasn't painful, just a little uncomfortable. I decided to get my left eyebrow pierced. I closed my eyes, because I really didn't want to see the needle, which was a good thing, because afterwards my mom told me that the needle was pretty thick. He told me to take a deep breath, and as I exhaled he put the needle through. It didn't hurt at all, just a little pinch, I didn't even flinch. It was almost painless. It was a little weird when he had to get the ring, because he had to leave the needle in my eyebrow, it wasn't painful or anything, it was just kind of strange having a needle chilln' in your eyebrow. The only thing that I really felt was when he put the ring in, and when he had to put the ball on, he had a little bit of difficulty doing that. I had gotten a 18 gauge.
Of course after it was all over with I was very happy. He went over the aftercare, and like most people I was to excited to pay attention. He gave me some papers on the aftercare.
That night I was very careful not to sleep on my left side.
It was sore for a while. I cleaned it with antibacterial softsoap three times a day. It was kind of painful to rotate the ring when I cleaned it, but it was bearable pain.
Unfortunatly, due to my lack of common sense, I didn't clean it for long enough, and I got a cyst. Luckily though it went away when I cleaned it with a lot with bactine, and got a new barbell.
I got an 18 gauge curved barbell. Even though its the same gauge as the ring I had to stretch it a little when I put it through. It was sort of painful, but it was worth it. Now that I have a barbell I don't have to worry about bumping it with my hand so much.
Ever since nothing bad has happened to it. I am very happy with my piercing. As soon as my lazy ass gets a job i'm going to buy more barbells, I want colored ones to match my outfits.
This was my first piercing, besides my ears, and I think it was a perfect first time piercing. I recommend it to anyone who wants to get it done, just make sure and clean it for a while, don't be stupid like me! I am now planning on getting my tongue pierced, then my belly button. It is true, piercings can become addicting!
