So after reading alot of experiences on this site, I figure I should put in my experience as I didn't read any quite like mine! I had my piercing done at Essential Beauty in Frankston (Melb, Australia) and although it didn't end well the place was absolutely IMACULATE and the service was awesome. I would recommend Ess. Beauty to anyone in the area, it was well worth the extra cash compared to some of the tattoo/piercing places around here. Mine cost me $50 for the piercing, jewelry and cleaning stuff. I didn't think that was too unreasonable.

At the time I was still at school and such so I also needed my mother to approve. She said it was a nice, small piercing so it wasn't too rebellious or obvious. She also said she wouldn't help me if it got infected lol because she didn't approve of piercings. I've never had a piercing before apart from my earlobes(2 in left, 3 in right), so I did ALOT of researching and reading before I went and had it done. Of course BME was the best place to find all my info. I also recommend watching YouTube videos, I found that shocking myself by watching the videos really helped my fear of needles and blood lol. Of course any googling action can help too. I made sure I had all the info so I knew exactly what was going to happen!
Another word of advice is to load up on food, Particularly sugar, before the piercing. It apparently helps with feeling light-headedness or sickness, which I found to be helpful. I found eating a Maccas meal with a sundae worked wonders =P
The piercing itself was okay. To be completely honest I have absolutely no pain threshold and for anyone contemplating getting a nose piercing as their first and you have no pain barrier, DONT DO IT! It reaaaaaaaaaaally really really friggin hurts, I would suggest looking into a non-cartlidge piercing. I backed out several times before have the needle shoved through my nostril, and it stung and ached like a bitch. Probably the most neauseating part being when the piercer couldn't find the stud and I had to lie with the needle in my nose sticking into the middle of my nose while I had to wait. The swelling and bruising was horrible, but it started to ease the next day.
Another problem I had was that I was told by another piercer that it would have been less likely to fall out had it been a curly end stud. The stud I had was inserted and bent and according to this piercer it was much better to have the cork screw stud.
ANYWAY.
After having my beautiful piercing done, A few days later I decided to go to a concert. (Hellogoodbye, Was brilliant by the way :P Lol)
BAD IDEA.
As I was in the mosh pit, another bad idea, I had someone smack me in the face with their arm and it ripped out my piercing. Oh my gosh it hurt so bad.
OUCH.
My friend retrieved the stud, and she did the best she could to jam it back in. She wrang her sister, A piercist, and asked her what to do in the situation. Problem was, it didn't go in far enough and ended up sticking into the inside flesh of my nose, like a pocket.
YEP, OUCH!
The next day I called the piercist, who said she could redo the piercing and pop it back in for me. She said it wouldn't take much to repierce it through the thin layer of skin. As I am admittedly the biggest wimp on earth, I decided to just end my piercing pain and take it out. I didn't want to risk any more pain or infection or problems, so I thought it best to remove it.
To this day I still miss my nose piercing =[
I think they are very feminine and beautiful.
I'm now considering a monroe.
But I will probably wuss out. Lol
But just a word of warning to anyone who is scared of pain, It does hurt. And absolutely make sure you have a needle piercing, I have seen so many people have it done with a gun and it is sooooooo bad! And never ever do a piercing by yourself or someone unqualified! Even worse!
Also I had alot of trouble at my work (Safeway checkout chick) They said they couldn't give me work until I took it out. So make sure you have all the details you need before you get it done!
Anyway if you have any questions feel free to email me, I'd be happy to talk to anyone about experiences!
