So, I had been tossing around the idea of getting my septum redone...pretty much since i'd taken it out. The first time it was placed very high and very far back and was almost pointless so I retired it, it was 16g. I remembered the piercing the first time was basically painless and figured why not, it would feel the same, right? Now my boyfriend was a big fan so he was all excited when I outed my idea of having it redone and he immediately contacted my piercer and told him. Now some time and things happened until I actually had time to get it done, but I really don't feel like writing it, so.....fast forward.

The day came when I finally had a day off work and decided to get it done. Me & Tom (boyfriend) went into the shop, he wandered into the back to talk to his friends and I sat down out front where the piercer was on the computer. I asked him about it. He nodded, said "Cool" and stayed focused on his computer (a totally normal reaction from the most calm guy ever). I asked about gauges. He said, "they normally start at 16 but can go up, I wouldn't go past a 6". Since I had already decided on a little larger gauge than the last time I had a few questions lined up. "How would you do it?" I asked him. "Punch." My eyes widened, the idea of a dermal punch scared me, I only had a small one done for my microdermal ever. "Is that safe, will it be more painful?" He shrugged. Ok. I wanted a 12g I had decided, really I wanted a 10 but no way I was ready for a 10g punch. "10? Yeah I can do that, just give me a second." Peat said and started shutting down his computer.

I went back told my boyfriend and eventually wound up in the bright lime green piercing room I loved to be in (it's awesome colored!). Peat started to take out the supplies he needed and put them on his table. Washed his hands (like 12x) and came over to me. "Ok lie back." I laid down and started trying to think of bunnies. He positioned the punch onto the spot he wanted on my septum. "Take a deep breath..." CRUNCH! "....and out" Wow. That was so much worse than I had recalled it being. But before I could think about how bad it hurt I felt a cool/warmness running down my lips. My nose was basically gushing. He started to put the horse shoe it. Had to stop, wipe blood, insert jewelry, wipe blood, screw ball, stop, wipe blood, screw tighter. "So...you're a bleeder." After the jewelry was in he finally put wadded up tissue in m nostrils to clog the blood. Which made me look awesome, let me tell you! I decided to lay down a little till I stopped dripping but finally left the room to go back out from. I must admit I was semi embarassed, considering the tissues made my nose even bigger. While we were all hanging out at the front of the shop I noticed my nose almost had a burning sensation, I told Peat, he asked why. I wonder? It did go away and so did we. The ride home was fine but when I went to go to bed it was different and I couldn't get used to the metal tickling my nose so kept almost itching and took forever to go to sleep.

Peat knew I had the next day off work, so he told me to come in then and we'd make sure I could flip it for work. I did. He widened the jewelry a little and made me make a silly face to stretch my nose and tucked it up there. I'm pretty sure I said "Ow, douche that's my nose"..but maybe not. I decided to keep it tucked up for work the next day, I didn't want over move it so soon. The next day at work no one noticed, except and older lady kept wiping her nose when she looked at me, i'm guessing the silver was hanging down a wee bit? I still flip it almost daily for work, usually 6-10 hours, then flip it back down and h2ocean it to death and clean crusties. It's healing nicely despite the flipness.

Overall it was not horrible, however it is the only piercing that i would never redo, ouch! The crusties mostly stopped after like 2/3 weeks and it's still healing but not sore, thanks to sea salt and h2ocean. I did h2ocean a few times a day. I do want to stretch it to a 10g, but that's way down the road.
