First of all let me say I've wanted to get my nose pierced for a very long time, since about middle school. But I grew up with a very strict mom who felt the need to shield me from the world plus she's religious so piercings are definitely a no-no in her eyes. So here I was 19 years old and had completely virgin skin not a single piercing or tattoo or anything. But piercings have always fascinated me and even though I really wanted one I still lived with my mom so I tried not to rock the boat too much so to speak. Well one day while at the mall (I now know this was not the greatest of ideas) I decided to throw caution to the wind and got my ears pierced I know that most of you probably have have that since you were really little but anyways, the so called piercing bug bit me and I was addicted. Within 2 months I had three more piercings done and I wanted more.

Now keep in mind I still hadn't done my nose since my mom was already pissed and that's not really something you can hide since it's right in the middle of your face. But I still really wanted it and even though I've never really been happy with my nose it just seemed like it would be something that would really suit me. So by now I had turned twenty and I wanted to celebrate and what better than my long awaited nose piercing?? Well I ended up going to some shop out on Tyrone and I went in asked some questions, looked at jewelry but something didn't feel right, I just wasn't comfortable getting pierced there so I left (and I'm glad I did cause that place was dirty compared to where I ended up going) so I still didn't have my piercing and another 2 months down the road one of my ear piercings got infected so I called a shop that a few people had recommended and asked them about it, they thought I was having a reaction to the metal so I went in to buy some surgical steel studs.

While I was there I decided to ask about the nose piercing. Doc was really nice and answered all my questions and the shop was clean so I decided what the hell and went ahead and said I would do it. So I'm filling out my forms and my hands are shaking a little and for some reason I'm really nervous. So he explains the aftercare and we go in the the "piercing area" and I'm started to sweat a little it feels like and I'm thinking to myself c'mon what's wrong with you I didn't think I'd feel so nervous about it but I went in and sat down and we talked about placement and I asked him his opinion, and he marked where he thought it should go but I thought it was a little further forward than what I wanted so I asked him if he could move it back a little so he does and it's perfect (never be afraid to say you don't like where they mark something you're the one who has to live with it, trust me I know from one of my other piercings). So he asks me if I'm ready and I'm not but I say I am anyways and he put this little cork thing in my nostril and in went the needle. Now let me say this was extremely uncomfortable not painful just uncomfortable and your eyes water up real bad for some reason. That's it he's done I didn't even notice when the jewelry went in it was all so fast. So he explains the aftercare again and I pay for the studs, my piercing and this stuff called Techni-care. By the time I get back to the car my nose is throbbing some, thankfully my boyfriend was with me so I didn't have to drive and I just stared at my nose the whole way back to his house.

It bled some that day and what I thought was weird is that it didn't hurt at all while he was piercing it but the rest of the day it hurt pretty bad. I left it alone that day and went home late so my mom wouldn't see it and when I woke up the next day I barely noticed that it was even there. It never bothered me at all except when you go to blow your nose and forget you have it and it gets caught on the tissue OWWW. Oh well, I did have an incident a month later while I was cleaning it on Christmas day so everyone was closed, it got caught and came out, started bleeding I freaked out when I couldn't get it back in but after half an hour I got that damn screw back in there and I did get a bump for a few days after that from the irritation I guess but since then smooth sailing it's been two months since that happened and I couldn't be happier. Now I'm saving up for piercings number 6 and 7, can't wait.
