Back in May 2007 I decided, through my cousin Amanda, 21, and looking at this site, I wanted to get my nose pierced. My mom said she'd think about it. She was fine with it, my dad-not so thrilled with the idea of me being a 'pincushion'. Around the beginning of June, right before my birthday, my mom and dad talked about it. My dad made a few jokes about it (i.e. when you blow your nose, does it whistle?). But finally he said 'If this is what you really want, it's fine with me.' I ran to the computer and told Amanda on myspace my parents said yes. She called my mom that night after telling me on myspace what would happen.

I was graduating from eigth grade, and my party was on the 23rd(I hated that because at 6 flags I was gonna see Gym Class Heros-different story). After the party I was gonna stay with her for a week in Bristol Pike, PA. I got about 200 dollars for my graduation, including a 50 dollar bill from my Aunt Judy. 50 dollars would be enough to cover the piercing and the stud. About the third day I was there(Amanda wasn't feeling to well the first two days so I watched her kids) we went to a tattoo and piercing shop on Street Road. Joe, the girls father, had them that day. The piercer was off that week, so Amanda took this as an opportunity to get a tattoo on the back of her neck that said lust-I paid for it as a birthday present I didn't get her.

After that we decided to see if Taco was at her usual piercing/tattoo place. He wasn't in, and Amanda was happy that she wouldn't have to let him see a tattoo done by another shop. The guy there said he was better with nose rings and he could try the stud but it might come out crappy. I said it was fine, and Amanda said she could do it by herself but it would hurt like hell. So the next day, Estee, her fiance, watched the girls and we went back to her usual place.

Taco was there-so were the nerves. He came out and greeted Amanda. She filled out the form for me, and when she had to call my mom to get he drivers license number, she told my mom I was freaking out-very much so. Finally I was seated and Taco pulled out a sterilized kit. Amanda told me to look at her, but I colsed my eyes and grabbed her hand. The clamp hurt alot. The needle, not so much. He tried to get the stud through but he pierced it a hair too high. So he pulled out another kit and I smiled and said 'Oh my god.' He laughed and reassured me the second time was nothing. I grabbed Amandas hand again, and as he finally got the stud through, she asked if she could have her hand back. I said no and she smiled at me.

After wiping up the blood coming out of my skin, I looked in the mirror, and the guy who was seated behind me getting a tattoo asked if it hurt and if I liked it. I told him it hurt a little and I loved it. He smiled and went back to his tattoo. I paid Taco and thanked him, and when I got in the car, I took a long breath and Amanda laughed. When we got back to her apartment around the corner-a 30 second ride-she told me to stand in her kitchen while she told Estee I backed out.

Estee came out then to ask me why and it was almost caught when Danielle, 4, said let me see. But I said in a minute. Estee asked me if I liked it, I said yes but it hurt. I called my friend John and told him. Then Amanda showed me how to clean it and Estee gave me an aspirin. I still have it, and I'll admit I don't clean it alot, but I still have it, I love it, and it was one of the first things my now boyfriend noticed about me lol.

If you have any doubts about getting yours done, I say just go for it. It really doenst hurt, just after it's done It feels like you just got punched in the nose a little, nothing aspirin cant help. Don't eat anything that forces you to chew too much, stick with something soft for that night. It's really fun, and it's not a hassle at all, even if you get a cold or allergies. Have fun, don't worry, and take care of it and yourself! It's really been eight months, and I'm ready for a navel piercing to celebrate this summer...
