I am a 43 year old mother of 2 sons ages 13 & 5 years old. I have always thought that ladies with the little diamonds on their noses were so classy. I had never really thought to much about getting it done myself, mainly because it is so out in the open it is not something that can be hidden by hair or clothes if you choose not to show someone

He said yes.
I never really thought to much about multiple piercings or tattoos. After, I had my first child he was about 2 when I decided to get a tattoo on the inside of my ankle I can hide it if need be(of course at fineline).
Several years later, my good friend Heather thought we should go get our belly buttons pierced. She changed her mind I went and got mine done(again at fineline), but it rejected, I tried to change the jewelry to soon.. I later after healed returned to fineline for a repiercing, that worked out fine, that is another story), then I decided a little belly tattoo would be so cute with my belly ring(again fineline)But again I can hide all this if I don't wish to share them.
Then, I decided back a few months ago, I needed my upper ear cartilage pierced, then I could wear a little diamond stud there when it heals. Right now it has a cbr, but I can hide that with my hair if I don't want anyone to see it...
In between time several patients that have come into the doctors office has the cute little diamond on their nose, and I have noticed it more and more...The more I have been thinking again about how I would like to have this done. But, for me it required permanent commitment and was I sure I wanted to have my piercing for all to see....I have been for the last few months using little sparkle jewels and putting them on my nose to see if I want it and where to put it. I also was kind of interested what the reaction would be at work. My co-workers that said anything thought was cute, and disappointed it was not real.
The other day, I asked my teenage son what he thought he thought I would look hot I should go for it....I kept thinking about and decided to go for it. I told my husband I was going to do it and take my older son, he wanted to watch mom get a needle stuck through
her nose and hopefully blood guts and gore....
So, I called him and asked him if he wanted to go after I got off work(this was last night/friday/January 25, 2008) He said sure.
So, we did not make an appt and headed to....where else but Fineline
they have an open, clean,& friendly atmosphere...Besides, the awesome lady who pierces there has done all but my ear lobes, sad part is I never think to ask her name....I knew what jewelry I wanted, already I had already gone in several times and looked at jewelry and checking details. I have about 4 people in front of me, so my son looked at tattoos. While I got my instructions, filled out my paperwork, got my license copied, and waited. Most of the gals ahead of me were getting lips pierced. Popular night for lips....
Then my turn, She asked me which side(right for me) and what jewelry I wanted the cute little gold diamond nose screw. Fineline due to health regulations cannot have people in the rooms watching, so we left the door open and he stood at the counter. They custom bend the nose screws to fit. I asked if a band-aid at night was wise, no new piercing need to breath in order to heal well. But the screws unlike studs are less likely to come out if they fit well....She told me if in a week or two if it felt loose come in and she would do an adjustment anytime I need...but not to change to soon(I learned that from the belly button, buy something you like and leave it). She had the room all cleaned up and reset up chair cleaned, new or freshly sterilized for everything used. She put on new gloves and cleaned my nose inside and out the q-tip up the nose is a weird feeling....She had me scrunch up my nose, marked we agreed a little higher...cleaned remarked my spot, put the "needle catcher" up my nose that was not as bad or as weird as the q-tip digging around my nose...Then, she warned me take a deep breath and exhale slowly and she would put the needle in....I felt like a poke then just the sensation of something there...she had the nose screw in almost instantly, again just a sensation of like a loose hair of something. She had given me a tissue and I felt my eye water a little, but not even a tear...My son was disappointed no blood, no tears, not even red. He commented it looked like it had been there forever. I came out to the counter paid & tipped, my professional, painless piercer. When we went to leave the shop, I figured I would freeze or hurt it was pretty chilly, but nothing. We went to Walmart to get a few things, then stopped and got food to take home. Michael my oldest thought it was cool. Kyle my youngest hugged me when I came home I don't think he realized the thing on my nose was actually real. If I at the 43 can do it so can anyone. You are only as old as you feel, it is never to late...just go for it!! My advice though is to be sure and have it done by a professional!! If you are around Topeka, Kansas go to Fineline for the best Tattoos and piercing!! Thank you,
Patricia
