Okay, so I guess it's about time I get the chance to share my happiness with others about getting my Septum pierced :).

Well first of all, let me tell you it took me a while to get my parents used to the idea of me getting it pierced. They kept saying over and over "No, you'll look like a fucking bull! And you can't hide it! Can you?" haha, stupid close minded parents, not knowing anything about piercings. Even though yes, I kind of look like a bull now (oh well that's fine by me, I love the look of it). Anyway, after about the 70th time of asking I finally used the line "Well hey I can easily hide it! You'll never see it when were all out and about together, I can just flip it up! And it's not expensive, plus hey I'll even pay for it!" which I think was the part that got them to say yes, since I work at McDonalds, and make my own money. Anyways, they said they would agree if they didn't have to pay for it nor watch me get it. Which of course standard piercing rules if you're under 18 you have to have a parent there the whole time. Which my mom agreed to come as long as she didn't have to watch me get pierced, so I called up my best friend Josh and he agreed to go with me to hold my hand and watch my piercer (Bugz) poke holes in me.

Well, the following week went by slowly but it finally came and I called up Ancient Arts (which if you're ever in the Blacksburg, Virginia area I would totally recommend them! Vicky and Bugz are both great artists and they make you feel welcomed and calm during the piercing procedure). Anyways, back to the story. I went and picked up Josh to drag his happy butt with me. Well we finally arrived there and I was warmly welcomed by the counter girl (I think her name was Jessica, not sure though.) And we did all the ID checking and paperwork while Bugz was getting the back room ready for me and I also picked up some H20cean (which works wonders and isn't that expensive.). Well Bugz was ready to get me in the back room after he cleaned up the area and got all the needles and tools out (which yes he opened in front of me and explained them all. Plus he washed his hands in front of me too so that way I knew it was all going to be clean and that I didn't have to worry about a nasty infection.).

Well, I went into the back room and sat on the big dentist looking chair and relaxed while he picked at my nose to find my "sweet spot" but then he had to have me stand up which was actually kind of funny since he was talking to me about all the weird positions you have to be in just to pick a persons nose. Which brings me to another good thing about having him pierce or tattoo you, he talks to you during the whole thing and makes you feel comfortable.

So I hoped back onto the chair and laid back as he told me while he was putting the clamps inside my nose (which hurt like a bitch! To me that was the worst part of the piercing!). Anyways, he did the whole breath in breath out slowly technique and he said when I would breath out he'd stick the needle through, so as I let out my breath he pushed the needle through and voila it was done! But he had me keep track of my breathing so he could put the retainer in (which no it doesn't hurt at all). And he had me sit up slowly so I could see what it looked like, and I LOVED it! I feel in love with instantly! I thanked him and jumped off the chair, he did warn me though that it will be tender for the next 4-8 weeks, and to not touch it unless I need to clean it. And that he was gonna leave it a bit loose so I could easily flip it up for work (since McDonalds is so against facial piercings) and to just come back in a week and he would tighten it for me. I thanked him again, said goodbye to the counter girl and left with a happy septum piercing :).

Well a week went by and I went back to get it tightened up a little so it wouldn't look all that crooked. And haha sadly when Bugz went to clamp it, the clamps slipped (twice) but he was super nice about it and let me sit there for about 5 minutes before he even touched it again. So don't worry, he would NEVER hurt any of his clients on purpose. And I would totally recommend them if you ever get the chance!

The service is great, and the people are super nice! They make sure your piercings and healthy, clean, and straight! And now with only two weeks left to change out my retainer for a ring my septum is doing just great, I'm cleaning it with a little soap, and H20cean. No crusties either!

And well I couldn't be happier, I'm going back next week to get my anti-helix or helix done, and I wouldn't trust anyone else but Bugz or Vicky, so if you do stop by.. Make sure to ask for one of them two, they'll take great care of you!

Oh and if your worried your parents will throw a bitch fit about it like mine did, just simply say "But it's something I can easily hide. All I have to do is flip it up." and if you have a job, suggest to pay for it yourself that'll most definitely help!
