So now I'm known as the local bull because of this lovely piece of jewlery I have sticking through the middle of my nose. I've wanted an original and odd piercing that everyone would know about ever since I was 10. Of course when I saw people with a septum piercing at that age I would think it was...unusual. I'd like it on some people more so than others.

Then I was looking at a picture of a girl with a septum piercing and I noticed her nose, it was small and kinda pixie like, kinda like mine. I thought it would look cute and at the same time not something that everyone had, since I come from a very small town I knew what people would think of me.
So after wanting it for a few years and asking my mother for a few years (she still never said yes) we had a snow day for school. And of course when we have a snow day, there is never really any snow. So I called up my best friend Greg and was like hey, you should come with me to get my septum pierced. He knew I liked this piercing for a while and of course he was like yeah sure. So I met him down at the mall and we started to walk over. Of course being the loving friend that he is, he went on about how it's going to hurt a lot and I'm going to get into so much trouble and all that jazz that he was hoping would get it out of me. So we went into the shabby looking place because it was closer than the other piercing place and I said I wanted my septum pierced. The guy took a look at me and said yeah sure and gave me a form while my friend looked a the prices of genital piercings. So the guy took me up to the little black chair and I sat down starring at the untensles that were in the process of being sanitized and putting my friends hand on my heart showing him how hard it was beating. The piercer told me to lean back. I told him this was my first piercing and he said probably one of the worst. Great.
I took both of my friends hands and I held them onto dear life. The piercer put this yellow triangular typish peg against one side of my nose. He told me to breath in once and out and then again. I was sure he was going to shove the needle in then but then he told me to do it again so I did and he didn't. Then I got a little concerned because I didn't know when he was going to do it and I started thinking he is going to do it so unexpectedley and I'll jump. But then sure enough after breathing in and out for the fourth time he stuck the needle through. My toes curled up and I squinted my eyes and I'm pretty sure that I could have made my friend's hand bleed. It only stung for a brief moment but it was just like an ordinary needle, okay it hurt a bit more. But for not nearly as long. Right after that my nose went numb and I looked down and there was a thing of straight metal going through my nose. It actually looked quite funny and then Greg said I can't believe you just did that. And I was surprised after that because most people say that the jewlery is the worse but I didn't even feel it because my nose was so numb. My eyes watered a bit, but not from pain. Apparently it's completely normal.
I took a look in the mirror and it looked good so the guy flipped it in for me since I needed it hidden for work and from my mother. Then I noticed you could see it on the left side. I started to get a little concerned. But I figured I wouldn't give up. So I paid the guy and walked to the mall with Greg where we ran into his friend and of course he called me crazy and asked me continuously why I would do it. For the next day or so I just stayed to the left of my mother and then after the third day I noticed that it did not hurt at all so I went to the store and bought a clear retainer and sanitized it and put on my gloves and put it in.
I washed it two times a day with antibacterial soap and spectro gel because I heard that it was good for piercings. As stupid as it was to put a retainer in after 3 days, it worked perfectly fine! There was no infection or anything and to this day I still put in my clear retainer around my mother or when I go to work. My mother saw it once and I said it was a fake one that's magnetic because I had one like that for Halloween once. I still clean it regularly and I love it. It fell out once during the night when I had a retainer in but thats because I forgot to put on the end of it. But I just slipped it right back in with a bit of force after quickly sanitizing it.
So now I love my little shiny ring in my nose no matter how much I get made fun of (which believe me is a lot) but at the same time, I really don't care because it's normally the kids that are just mean. On the plus side I'm told by many good looking guys it's attractive and that they have things for girls with septum piercings. Haha So I think I can go through a bit of being called a bull to look at my piercing every night before I go to bed and think stupid things like "I'm so proud of myself for actually doing something I would never thought I would do" I feel like I've overcomed my fear of needles. Actually the other day I had a needle and I didn't worry one bit all because I knew it wouldn't hurt as much as this baby. :)
